Lynnwood Power Out Yesterday: No Lights!

Lynnwood Real Estate: Cooper Jacobs Real Estate Services: Real Estate Brokerage in Lynnwood, WA

Lynnwood power out for a couple hours - some remain in the dark..

Power went out to many Brier and Lynnwood homes yesterday around 3:40 when according to the Snohomish PUD, a semi hit an electrical pole. After two hours of being in the dark in Brier, I called and was told that they would have the power back on within the hour for all those except the twenty or so homes that are directly surrounding the pole. These lucky winners get to have their power out for about 48 hours because it takes a while to replace a pole apparently.

The pole in question was neer Larch and 215th and driving around was not easy with all the lights down as well. The PUD worked hard to get most of us back in the light, but based on my two hour experience yesterday, my heart goes out to the houses who remain in the dark. If you know anyone in that area, please check on them and offer some help!

The Rock Wood Fired Pizza in Lynnwood - I love it and think you will too!

The Rock Wood Fired Pizza in Lynnwood

The Rock Wood Fired Pizza and Spirits located on 196 Avenue in Lynnwood is truly a destination for pizza lovers. One of 10 restaurants in the local chain, The Rock features handmade artisan pizzas with names like 'Bad to the Bone', 'Meaty beaty Big and Bouncy' and 'Yellow Brick Road'. All the pizzas are of course handmade on fresh dough, using ingredients the likes of which you will never find at one of the national pizza shops. It also goes without saying, that their pizzas get a little extra flavor from not being cooked in a standard commercial pizza oven, but a real pizza oven that gives their crust flavor that is hard to beat.

If that weren't enough, The Rock also serves up its own line of micro brewed beer to wash its pizza down with. How can you go wrong when you pair any of their scrumptious pizzas with a cold glass of beer such as their Rock Steady Red, Sledge Hammer IPA, or our favorite the Suicide Blonde Pilsner. Of course if something stiffer is what you're wanting to drink, they have a full bar at your disposal and you may wish to order up A Bucket, limit two per person please!

If you haven't deduced by now, The Rock has a definite Rock And Roll theme. The decor is best described as 'old industrial', featuring worn brick walls and metal. Guitars, posters of album covers and other rock 'n roll paraphernalia round things out, giving The Rock a very distinct and relaxed feel.

One last very important thing to mention about the rock is that it has an all you can eat lunch buffet! For one low price you can have a drink, salad and as much of their unparalleled pizza is you can pack away. This is a great way to try The Rock out and test out a variety of their pizzas. If you're in Lynnwood and looking for a place to have lunch I highly suggest you drop in!

Lynnwood Convention Center3711 - 196th St. S.W.Lynnwood, WA 98036

Tuesday : 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

August 11, 2009

Tamara has taught this class in the past 6 years for our Team Reba sponsored classes but she goes all out and has rented the Lynnwood Convention Center for this event. A lot of sellers who couldn't sell their homes in today's market have become landlords, less by choice than by necessity. This class should NOT be missed by anyone who owns rental property and who could use help in figuring out the right way to manage a property and avoid being sued by a tenant or run afoul of a government rule (with fine) that you didn't realize existed.

Well worth the time to attend and highly recommended!

Lynnwood High Closed For Good, but plans up in air for old Location?

Lynnwood Real Estate: Cooper Jacobs Real Estate Services: Real Estate Brokerage in Lynnwood, WA

Doors closed for good...

I have only really been in the gym and the parking lot of Lynnwood high school as a parent of a visiting team member during sports, but it still seems sad to me that the old school will be torn down forever. The gym and bleachers especially were horrendous, but there was still a sense of history that is hard to recapture and install in new buildings.

The new school over on North Rd is coming along and looking amazing - I guess it should since it is costing almost $100 million according to reports! What a facility! I know it will be exciting for all the students to start their journeys in this state of the art school! The very cool part is how green the building is going to be!

Plans for the old location? Cypress Equities from Texas entered in to an agreement with the Edmonds School District as far back as 2006 I think to lease the land for 99 years for a reported $140 million. The plan was to put in mixed use retail and even a hotel. That latest, though is not looking good as the developer is rethinking their plan for the site. I don't know how these things are "agreed to", but hopefully there was something equivalent to earnest money in residential transactions that was significant in case of default...
