Last night we had the great pleasure of having dinner at Casablanca on Brady Street...Brady Street is a wonderful mix of cultural culinary delights from many corners of the globe....and part of what makes southeastern Wisconsin such a diverse and wonderful place to live. This taste of the Middle Eastern cuisine promises to treat your tastebuds to the best you have ever had of these flavorful choices.
The entrance is complimented with two enclosed flaming torches a the end of a sheltering canopy. First founded in Milwaukee 30 years ago as The Sahara Inn by Chef Jesse Musa, the restaurant is now very much at home on Brady Street and Jesse's sons, Ramzi, Ala and Nasser, have taken over the restaurant's management. The passion for exotic spices and pride in bringing guests not only a welcoming atmosphere, but an outstanding menu makes a meal unforgettable and this restaurant one that you will want to put on your top 10 places to return to again and again.
The menu has an array of freshly prepared entrees and the meal begins with your choice of soup or salad. David's soup was a famous hearty split yellow lentil slowly simmered with carrots, onions and spices and served with oven fresh warm pita bread. My salad was fresh watercress, endive and romaine with generous slices of tomato, cucumbers and olives tossed with crumbled feta cheese and accented with their fabulous house dressing.
Difficult choices have to be made with an assortment of entrees including vegetarian, chicken, beef and lamb. Kabobs of every variety are complimented by savory couscous or rice sides and other vegetables. If you can't decide on a meat entree....they have a Three combination...a palate pleaser offering a variety of well prepared chicken, beef and lamb.
No matter what your choice....you will find the dining at Casablanca to be a dining delight you won't soon forget. Reservations are recommended...which can be made on line or by calling: 414-271-6000. Open 7 days a week for your dining pleasure at lunch and dinner. To quote Bogie... "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

In the last year I have seen more and more storm or screen doors on the entrance to the home from an attached garage. This is very dangerous. They compromise the gas and fire barrier and the end result can lead to your home being burned down or /and death.
Most people don’t realize that before the 1960’s most garages were detached from the home. This was done for good reason. The garage is where gas, oil and many other combustible products were kept. The possibility of your garage catching fire was many times greater than your home. If a fire started in your garage you would not want it to spread to your home. Thus the detached garage.
Your fuel burning engines such as your automobile, lawn mower and snow blower are also kept in the garage and can release the deadly carbon monoxide gas.
So why are garages attached now? The use of fire resistant drywall is the answer. Drywall will not stop a fire from spreading into your home but will slow it down. 1/2 inch gypsum board retards a fire approximately 15 minutes and 5/8” thick gypsum board about 20 minutes. The reasoning is that if a fire starts in the garage the fire department will have enough time to arrive and knock the fire out before it enters the home.
Back to the storm or screen door. The door from the garage into the house must resist the spread of fire. The door must have a 20 minute burn rating or, if it is not specifically rated, it must be a solid door 1 3/8 inch thick. It must not open into an area used for sleeping. It must stay closed not be left open with a storm or screen door.
Other concerns I see are attic entrance panels that are not drywall. Dryer vents and heat vents open into the garage. This can allow fire and carbon monoxide into the home.
Accidental CO poisoning is very common. People are not perfect and sometimes the car is started with the vehicle door closed. The car may be left idling in the garage while the driver is distracted by something in the house. There are many ways to make a mistake.
A storm or screen door is a bad idea and should be removed.

Scoreboards are lighting up and crowds are getting "beastly" ----
It's Sports in Wisconsin and its been a GREAT October

Last weekend the MILWAUKEE BREWERS clinched the DIVISION Championship and wrapped up home field advantage for the first series in the playoffs. The WISCONSIN BADGERS welcomed the new addition Nebraska Cornbsukers to the BIG TEN with a DOMINATING victory and the GREEN BAY PACKERS closed out the weekend with a WIN in PACK ATTACK fashion.

This weekend the momentum continued in even more exciting fashion -- FRIDAY night , the BREW CREW "T' PLUSHED" their way past the Diamondack 2-1 in 10 innings in game 5 to advance to the National League Championship series.
Yesterday's SUPER SUNDAY had WISCONSIN's Fans and the band wagon jumpers alike eager for the "HIGH" to continue.... and our teams did not let us down!
GAME ONE in the NL PENNANT RUN - The BREW CREW, hosting the CARDINALS in first game of the day at MILLER PARK had fans teetertottering in their seats before ralling midgame to delivering a 9-6 WIN!
Aaron Rodgers lead the PACKERS to a come from behind Sunday NIGHT FOOTBALL WIN ............

It's intense but man is it fun!
The BREWERS, like the Harvey Wallbangers of 1982, are a team. Thats whats makes this Brewers team so dangerous and fun to watch, it's more than just the Prince and Ryan Show. This is an offense that can leave its imprint in all sorts of ways, via all sorts of people.
The fun continues tonight, and 7:05pm can't get here soon enough...MILLER PARK will be rocking!!!

Find yourself wanting to get in on the action -- MOVE to WISCONSIN--- and I will help!
