I had a closing on Thursday, August 6, which I would not be able to attend as I was having surgery at the UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. The selling agent was from my office, and had informed me everything was ready and not to worry.
The following week I found out that there was a BIG problem. The lender for this loan, Taylor, Bean and Whittaker, a national mortgage lending company, had to cease all origination operations effective immediatetly, and would not be able to close or fund any mortgage loans currently pending in its pipeline.
Dianne Beale, Assistant VP, Mortgage Lending at the First National Bank was providing the VA lender. She had received word Tuesday, August 4th, about Taylor, Bean and Whitaker and our closing was to be on August 6th.
This could have been a calamity......but turned out to be a blessing because of Dianne Beale
As before, Dianne Beale and First National Bank Saved the day for me. The First National Bank took the loan at 100%, and the closing took place as scheduled. All parties were so relieved and it was a smooth closing after all.......thanks to Dianne Beale and the First National Bank.

My husband had purchased a beautiful Citizen Echo Watch with a pearl face surrounded by diamonds for my birthday. The band was too large and I stopped to have a link removed. I had a chance to meet the owners, and some of the staff....everyone was so friendly. As I was taking photos for this post, a link was removed from my new watch, and a new battery put in another watch. I got service with a smile.
Lewisburg Diamond and Gold has something for everyone. Stop by today and buy some jewelry for yourself or a gift for a loved one....my husband did.

Blackwell's Restaurantis located in the Elks Country Club in Lewisburg, West Virginia. We have eaten at Blackwell's many times, and still think that it is one of the best hidden gems in Lewisburg. Blackwell's has the very best food and atmosphere in the Greenbrier Valley. Sitting inside or outside on the deck, patrons have the views of the golf course and the mountains. The restaurant is opened to the public.
The owners are Tim and LeeAnn Rodgers. Tim is a Five-Star Chef. They have been the proprietors since 2006. Tim and LeeAnn met while working at the Greenbrier Resort. Tim was a chef and LeeAnn was attending the Chef's School. Years later they opened Blackwell's Restaurant and business has been very prosperous for them.
Besides the great food, and service, fresh flowers, attention to details and a casual atmosphere is what you will find at Blackwell's Restaurant. The menu varies from seafood to steaks prepared by the Chef...Tim Rodgers. Below are just a few main dishes, appetizers and dessert....ummm so good!

Opened Thursday through Monday and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Hours of operations are:
Blackwell's also provides catering service. For the past four years, my husband and I have attended the Greenbrier Episcopal School's Silent Auction and Dinner, and enjoyed the beautiful and delicious buffet catered by Blackwell's.
Banquet facilities are also available in Blackwell's private dining room that accommodates up to 200 for sit down dinners and 250 for receptions. For more intimate gatherings, there is semi-private space available for up to 30 people.
Directions to Blackwell's Restaurant: From I64 travel one half mile North on Route 219, turn right on Brush Road, and right into the Elks Country Club.
For fabulous food, good wine, and an atmosphere that includes spectacular views and magnificent sunsets, call Blackwell's Restaurant at (304) 645-0100.
Blackwell's is the right choice...whatever the occasion.

Antiques and collectibles can be found at The Very Thing, located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, just off the I64 exit.
The Very Thing offers a wonderful opportunity to see many unique and diverse selections of items. Stop by and browse the 75 vendor booths, with a wide range of goods including antiques, books, collectibles, vintage clothing, furniture, Greenbrier Hotel items, and gifts.
I've shopped at The Very Thing for myself and for my family. My biggest purchase was 12 place settings of the Greenbrier dishes, as well as the Greenbrier china that has the letter "G" monogrammed on each piece. Why buy china with a monogrammed "G"... my last name is Gaujot....I thought the dishes would work great...and I might add the china makes a beautiful table. Never thought I would have monogrammed china ....and at such a great price.
Janet Neathawk, sole proprietor, opened The Very Thing in October 2005, and it has been a huge success. Patrons are always looking or just browsing ... as one never knows what you might find at The Very Thing.
I try to stop in and browse a couple of times a month.....come join me.... there are finds of all kinds at The Very Thing.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. Sunday 12 noon - 6 pm.
