I would like to introduce a new member to the Active Rain community, Heather Roques.
Heather is a mortgage specialist for City National Bank in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Heather is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she lived for 25 years. She and her husband, Ned, moved to Lewisuburg in July, 2007.
I first met Heather when she was a Realtor. Now as a mortgage specialist she assists buyers and sellers with their financing. And, provides Realtors with financing flyers for listings, as well as for open houses. Heather, in fact, assisted me in my open house on Saturday, which was a big success.
Heather has a great personality, and is so personable, with a great business sense. So, if you need a loan, stop by and see Heather. She will help you with all your financing needs.
Heather will be perusing the Active Rain network, and completing her profile, and hopefully upgrading her active rain account.

I held an open house on Saturday, April 18th the same day the Third Annual Chocolate Festival in Lewisburg, West Virginia was being held. It was a hectic morning, putting up open house signs, and trying to find some extra signs for the main roads. I was really hoping to go to the festival, but time was against me.
The open house was a success for two reasons: (1) we received an offer from a couple attending the open house; and, (2) the mortgage specialist signed on to be a member of active rain.
It was a good turnout, considering it was on a beautiful sunny Saturday and the festival was ongoing. We actually had four couples attend the open house. Three were really good possibilities who just loved the house; the other couple was just looking. One couple from North Carolina was there for the second time and had actually seen 14 other homes before coming to the open house. Now, they had a very busy day. But, guess what......this couple later made an offer.
Heather Roques, mortgage specialist at City National Bank was there to assist buyers with financing questions.
While we were waiting for people to show, I started talking about the Active Rain Network. And, since I had my laptop with me (of course), Heather received a brief lesson about Active Rain membership and how it works. I showed her my profile and how easy it is to set up a profile. We talked about blogging, writing and commenting on posts, and joining groups, as we waited for people to arrive for the open house. When possible, we would go back to the laptop for more active rain lessons.
Heather was really impressed with what she saw, and joined Active Rain on the spot. So, I helped her get started with her profile. Since her knowledge of the AR network and blogging was new, she did not want to upgrade for an outside blog at this time.
Heather will be perusing the Active Rain network, and completing her profile this weekend, and hopefully upgrading her active rain account by the end of the month. I suggested she start reading and commenting on posts, and of course, just start blogging. It is just like riding a bike, once you learn, you NEVER forget.....and never want to stop.
This was indeed a successful open house.....a contract offer and a new AR member........I can only hope to be this successful lucky at my next open house.
