Beware of Loan Officers who quote the client low rates before even pre-qualifying. If it sounds too good to be true... it probably is! Also watch how many points they are charging. A low interest rate will always be advertised prompting you to make the phone call. But accurate mortgage interest rate quotes are based on establishing the client's credit worthiness, debt-to-income ratio, payment history, long/short term goals, and what they can comfortably afford so there are no surprises and rate changes the day of signing...
