Yoga for Runners

Hmmmm.......... Is that a oxymoronic statement?

When I think of yoga, adjectives like relaxing, calm, peace come to mind. When I think of running, terms like pain, soreness, and agony come to mind.

Well -- A Workshop titled Yoga for Runners will combine the two exercises.

DISA breaks ground at Ft. Meade Military base - A BRAC milestone

Hip Hip Hooray Hip Hip Hooray

We have heard so much about Base Realignment Closures Act (BRAC).

On April 16, 2008 a milestone was reached - Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) broke ground on the new facility which will consist of seven buildings encompassing approximately 1.1 million square feet at a cost of about $442 M.

The headquarters building is slated to ready for occupancy by October 2010 and the remaining buildings by September 2011.

Approximately 4,300 DISA Jobs will relocate to Ft. Meade from Northern Virginia during the next 3 years.

Hensel Phelps Construction, the winning company selected by The Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District --stated that more than 200 local and national companies will be involved in construction of the new DISA complex.

Quick take -- Housing inventory is about supply and demand.

What do you think will happen in three years with the influx of thousands of people relocating?

Appreciate what you have

What is appreciation? Below is the definition from dictionary.com -- Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source - Share This ap·pre·ci·a·tion Audio Help /əˌpriʃiˈeɪʃən/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uh-pree-shee-ey-shuhn] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. gratitude; thankful recognition: They showed their appreciation by giving him a gold watch. 2. the act of estimating the qualities of things and giving them their proper value. 3. clear perception or recognition, esp. of aesthetic quality: a course in art appreciation. 4. an increase or rise in the value of property, goods, etc. 5. critical notice; evaluation; opinion, as of a situation, person, etc. 6. a critique or written evaluation, esp. when favorable.

What slide caught your attention? -- (for me) -- there were a few -- one being the number of people who have a computer, internet capability and how 6 people controlled the wealth.

I appreciate and am very thankful for my children, health, relationships with people, and a roof over my head.

Show your gratitude by telling the people you appreciate them. Don't be shy! Write a note and send it by mail-- one of the lost traditions of the modern world.

Get Unstuck!

Five years from now it will be 2013! Will you ask yourself, this question? -- Why didn't I buy a home when the prices were very attractive?(While the inventory was plentiful and the market was normal). Recently, I heard Les Brown, the motivational speaker state -- "During adversity -- expand!" You can use the classic Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the places you'll go! to wonder and wonder in delight with that statement. I say - the American dream is alive and well -- choose now what you'll do!

The Great Debaters - you should see it!

A movie well worth the time and money. The acting(Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker are very good along with the actors who played the debaters) and the story line is awesome! Its based on a true story and much to my surprise little old Wiley College did take on Harvard in the first debate between a Black & White College. I won't say who won, but I will say keep in mind the the time period of the historical event.

There will be a few things in the movie that will remind you of America's horrific past.

I enjoy movies that are engaging intellectually along with being entertaining.

I love those ESPN Commericals

Scott Van Pelt, a University of Maryland graduate appears in one with Boston's main trio of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. The trio is standing in front of Pelt giving them their best nickname of themselves -- they ask Scott what he thinks and he calmly Pelts out

The Boston Three Party -- now How good is that?

it was so good that I was laughing and may not remember the exact phrasiology and had to see it again to remember what was said.

Their commercials are very well done and keep your attention or at least mine. I also like the commercial with LaDanian Tomlinson in the mail room in full attire with helmet visor and he cannot find the correct mailbox to put the mail.

Which one is your favorite?

It grabbed my attention!

It grabbed my attention, my curiosity was piqued and I had to figure out why a big horn sheep was on a building in a big way. One block away I found The answer to my question -- Its a clothing store that sells active wear clothing -- the company did their homework because this is their first store in the states and this store is in Portland, Oregon. The pedestrian/cycling friendly city of sustainability.

I actually think that ICEBREAKER will be a hit. There clothes look great and they do a excellent job of selling their value proposition and educating the consumer when they walk into the store

They have a great active clothing wear and their product is green. It works great in cold weather and yet Chris Griffith could wear when she runs in the warm climate of Florida. They say you can wear it consecutively without odor -- now that's really good or should I say odorless!

Here is their link -- http://www.icebreaker.com/site/index.html

Oh by the way --they have clothing for all climates!
