Where Buffaloes Roam - Daniels Park in Douglas County Colorado

Fall is coming to an end in Denver Area. The Earth is turning brown and shades of gray, yet sun is shining and there are days like today with 70 degrees and a mild wind blowing. This kind of a day is a perfect day to go out to Daniels Park in Douglas County, no matter what the season is, to enjoy beautiful scenery and spectacular views.

There is something even more amazing you can see in Daniels Park. This is where Buffaloes roam. If you ever wanted to see LIVE buffalo, this is where you can! Daniels Park is approximately 20 miles south of Denver and within minutes from Highlands Ranch, Castle Pines and Castle Rock.

Daniels Park encompasses 1000 acres and most of that area is a Bison Reserve. The best times to see the Bison (or Buffalo) herd is early in the morning or at dusk, as they gather near the gravel road leading to the park. You can literally stand so close to the Bison that if you reached out your hand you could touch them. (not encouraged, by any means).


While heading to Daniels Park to see the Bison, you can also enjoy a great picnic, a walk on a trail, or even just a stop for a moment to look at the beauty around us.

Often it can get windy at Daniels Park, since part of it is on a vast open area.
