McPherson Kansas is an outstanding place to live in and raise a family. It is centrally located in the state of Kansas between Salina and Wichita on I-35. McPherson KS, has been nationally reconized as one of the "Top 100 Best Small Towns to Live in America". McPherson has a very low crime rate and proves to be a very safe place to have a family. The city of McPherson also has beautiful public parks and recreational facilities including a water park! There are multiple public areas within the city that have access to licensed fishing. (A great place for the very small, my son has a ball and stays busy catching channel cat, crappie, and bluegill.) An even more challenging adventure awaits at Maxwell Wildlife Refuge just a short drive from McPherson. There is a small lake inside the refuge that offers excellent fishing for largemouth, channel cat, and crappie.
