Is it only me, or do other people dread going to the dentist? I dread it so much that I go as little as possible - once every 5 years or more - even if I'm in some pain.
Why? I think it's because I had a horrible experience when I was 9 years old. The dentist was working on my teeth, and it hurt. I was a very quiet girl (shy) and didn't say anything, but I had tears streaming down my cheeks. He just kept going. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it now.
Anyway, I had an appointment with a new dentist today - Dr. Tom Delaney in Wentzville, Missouri. I was not looking forward to it at all. I had heard that he was interested in making dentistry a pleasant, painless experience (especially for those who had bad experiences in the past), so I chose him.
He was very kind and asked about my dental past. I started to tell him and found myself tearing up. I felt rather silly, but he was very understanding.
To make a long story short, I think I had the best dental experience that I've ever had. Maybe I won't dread it so much next time... :)

Tomorrow, October 3, 2008 starts the Wentzville, Missouri Wabash Days. The festivities go through Sunday, October 5, 2008. It is held along West Allen Street in the downtown area. The hours are:
Friday - 5 to 11 p.m.
Saturday - noon to 11 p.m.
Sunday - noon to 7 p.m.
Wabash Days is celebrating the city's connection to trains and the railroad. There will be carnival rides, live concerts, crafts, food and more!
