  • Listing Price: $307,801
  • Original List Price: $318,704
  • Specifications: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1872 square feet - built in 1973
  • 54% were vacant while listed
  • 102 days on market with 11 photos available thru NWMLS

Similar to the overall Washington State numbers, these Pierce County homes sold at 98% of the listed price but the original prices were reduced only 3% ... compared with 98% and 17% respectively.

Mt. St. Helens STILL active

Mt. St. HelensThe lava-dome building eruption of Mount St. Helens continues, but at a slower rate than in previous years.

The current eruption started October 2004, with a dump-truck load of lava (0.6 cubic yards) per second. The current level of lava is about a small pickup-truck load (0.35 cubic yard) every three seconds.

Putting this growth rate in perspective, the average growth rate of Mount St. Helens over the last 4,000 years. At this rate it will take a couple hundred years for the volcano to rebuild itself to its former height (the elevation was 9,677 prior to the 1980 eruption, now it's 8,365).

Currently, approximately 10% of the pre-1980 volcanic cone has been replaced and about 11% of the present horseshoe-shaped crater.

Bridge of the Gods

Bridge of the GodsLast summer my husband and son took wind surfing lessons.

They were hooked when we stayed on the Leeward (or is it Wind-ward?) side of Maui in Kihei. Every afternoon the Kite-boarders, kite-surfers and wind-surfers would give a great show. When we returned, they had to take lessons and did through the Seattle Parks and Recreation on Lake Washington. They were happy to report after just one lesson... WE GOT UP!!! Not much wind so they didn't go very far, but they got up...

With the summer approaching, last April the family took a ‘scouting' trip to Hood River Oregon. A Wind Surfing Paradise during the summer. With the waters of the Columbia River too cold, the weather not nearly warm enough, and the winds not strong enough (yet), we ended up sight-seeing. We stayed in Cascade Locks because the place had an indoor pool (remember... April in the Northwest, not known for warm sunny weather)

Photo is of "The Bridge of the Gods", a toll bridge built in 1926, 91 feet above the river, linking Washington and Oregon. The sixth highway bridge over the Columbia River heading east from the Pacific Ocean. With the completion of the Bonneville Dam in 1938, the bridge needed to be raised 44' because of the backwaters on the Columbia River.

Located in Island County Washington, Whidbey Island is well known for its luxurious bed & breakfasts and beautiful state parks. It is a transportation hub to enjoyable destinations with excellent ferry connections to Seattle, the Olympic Peninsula and the Olympic Mountains. A drive northward takes you across the dramatic Deception Pass bridge onto Fidalgo Island and on towards the city of Anacortes.
