Reasons Why You Should List Your Home During the Holidays

I know it's a hassle, but having your home for sale during the holiday season is a good idea. Good properties are few and far between during the holiday season. My clients who are looking for a home during the holidays are serious buyers who are ready to make a decision. Unfortunately, there are fewer homes on the market this time of year for them to choose from. To a seller, this means less competition!

Buyers love to see homes that are decorated for the holidays! Their emotions are stirred and they often make decisions based on the warm feelings they received while viewing a home. A welcoming holiday atmosphere inside a home is so inviting that buyers want to stay there! As a seller, you can limit showings during family gatherings.

Many people need to buy a home before the end of the year for financial and tax reasons. And with the extra time off that employees have during the holidays, buyers will have more time to spend looking for a house.

People being transferred for jobs often need to start in January with the new year. These buyers need to find a home now and your house must be on the market to capture these buyers. You can get your home under contract now, but delay the closing until early next year if it is agreed upon in the negotiations of the contract.

Selling your home now means you'll be ready to by during the spring when more properties are on the market. You won't have to worry about loosing that perfect house because you still need to sell yours.
