Glacier National Park

One of the most exciting national parks in the US is found in Montana. Glacier National Park, located in the northwest portion of the state offers incredible wildlife adventures. Visitors can see bears, elk, deer, fish, raccoons, birds, etc. all in the same trip. A late spring trip usually comes with a huge run off and a lot of green foliage. The highways offer some of the most impressive scenery. I would strongly recommend a trip to glacier for a great get away.

I grew up in Southwestern Montana. I couldn't have chosen a better place to grow up at the time. Laid back ranch communities offer an escape from the fastpaced city life. Access to great outdoor opportunities and wildlife gives great incentive to live there. Residents enjoy rivers, mountains, lakes, forested areas, etc. It's a great place to go to find property.

Montana Weather and Seasons

You know what I miss about Montana? I miss the snow. I miss the change in seasons. I love summer at 85 degrees, autumn flurries, winter snows, and spring rains. I guess if one can handle the cold then they can live in Montana and love it. I remember hauling wood as a kid after school and mowing an acre sized lawn and hating it. What I would do for an acre now or a nice splitting ax.

Some day I'll make the return.

I grew up in Montana but since have lived in Utah, Mexico City, and Las Vegas, NV. Montana certainly has a small town feel to it. Even the bigger cities have a small town feel. People seem to care more about you and your business and they tend to look out for their own.

Whenever I talk about home people ask about the mountains of Montana. Personally, I love them. But I also have to explain that 2/3 of the state are plains and rolling hills. It's a good idea to look at a topographical map of MT and you'll see the mountains on the western portion and flatter ground in the east. If you're looking for Montana real estate make sure you know where you are looking.

Money Travels the I-15

Since I have lived here in the South West I have learned that the markets here drastically affect the outcome of the markets in Montana. When California prices rise people cash out and buy in Las Vegas. People from Vegas move to Utah. Californians, Las Vegans, Utahns, Idahoans all move to Montana with their new found cash prizes. On the converse, people will tend to move out of Montana when the cash dries up.

Just wait for the next wave to hit!
