It looks like DIG Enterprises LLC has finished their Florida Freight Guide titled: DIG's Florida Freight Guide. What is a Florida Freight Guide?
It is a guide targeted to those in the trucking industry (truck drivers, owner operators, freight brokers, etc...) interested in obtaining more direct freight out of the state of Florida.
Historically, Florida has been a very tough place for truckers to get decent rates out of. Why? Not quite sure, but it seems like if you ask any truck driver what are the 5 worst states for getting freight out of, Florida is sure to be in that list.

What a surprise I had Friday morning when I went down to Leesburg's Building Services. I was going down there to get my permit so that I could re-shingle my roof myself. I had gotten a few quotes that were OUTRAGEOUS, so I decided that I would do it myself. I had worked for a roofing company one summer while I was attending college, so roofing is nothing new to me. I know all of the new codes that must be done now and that is no problem.
Here is the problem though:
After talking to the people to get my permit, they told me that by doing it myself, I would still have to comply with all of the new codes, have various stages of inspections, etc... None of this is a problem. Until this...they said that since I was doing the roof myself and not hiring a licensed contractor, I would have to sign an affidavit that I WOULD NOT sell my house for 6 months.
RIDICULOUS!!!!!
Keep in mind that I still have to go through the ENTIRE inspection process. The city has to SIGN OFF of every stage of the process. So, I ask you this...if the city is inspecting me and signing off on my work, why would they make me wait 6 months to sell my house? I could understand the wait if they weren't going to inspect my work, but come on. Roofing contractors know this and they basically can set the rates at whatever they want.
So, the point of this blog is this...if you want to save some money and re-shingle your house yourself, be aware that you won't be allowed to sell your home for 6 months after.

Just wanted to let you all know that Fruitland Park Recreation is now accepting registration for boys and girls teams. Practices & Games will be on Tuesday's and Thursday's. In order to register, you must bring a copy of your child's birth certificate.
Cap League Baseball: Ages 7-9 beginning in March and will last for 6 weeks. Cost is $20 per child for the season. The cost includes T-shirt, cap and socks. Players will have to provide their own pants and gloves. You will also have to supply your own laundry detergent!!! The deadline to register is Friday, February 29th.
Pee Wee Soccer: Ages 4-6. Registration will last until March 14. It is a 4 week program and begins in April. Cost is $15 per child for the season. This cost includes shirt, shorts and socks. Players will need to provide their own shin guards. Take it from an ex soccer player...don't get those cheap plastic strap on guards. Get the big kind you slip on like a sock. Trust me, your child will appreciate it once he/she takes one in the shin.
T-Ball: Ages 4-6. Registration will last until April 15 (isn't there something else important to do on that day?). This is a 4 week program and it will begin in May. Cost is $15 per child. This price includes shirt and cap. Parents: Please don't provide your child with HGH or other performance enhancing drugs. Corked bats are not allowed either. If caught, you may have to appear before congress.
