Each month, the Imagination Library mails a new age-appropriate, hardcover book to registered children from birth to age five-at no cost to the family, regardless of income. The cost of delivering 12 hardcover books to one child is $30 annually. This cost is split evenly between Henderson County and a state budgetary allocation requested annually by the governor, approved by the General Assembly, and administered by the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation. Meaning, Henderson County Imagination Library must raise $15 per child, per year.
There are nearly 200,000 children currently registered for the Imagination Library in Tennessee. Henderson County has approximately 1,652 children under the age of 5 and of those we are serving 66%. Henderson County Imagination Library has to raise approximately $30,000 annually to cover the cost of this program.
So, your support would be greatly appreciated!
For more information about the Henderson County Imagination Library, or to sponsor/register a child to receive the monthly book, contact Mayor Dennis Ray McDaniel ~17 Monroe Ave. Suite 4 ~ Lexington, TN 38351 ~ (731) 968-0122.
Hope to see you there!!!

Yes, it's Labor Day, and most are on the lake or grilling in the backyard.
What am I doing??? Meeting with the home inspector and buyer to do the pre-closing home inspection.
Now, normally I don't go and follow the home inspector around during his inspections. But today was different. The buyer had drove 1000 miles to be present during this inspection and the home inspector agreed to take time away from his family on a holiday to accommodate this buyers schedule. So, being there was the least I could do.
I learned so much from this inspection. Just what was involved. How thorough he was in his checks. What might be a red flag, things he saw that I never nor the buyer ever noticed. Time well spent, needlessly to say.
So, salute to home inspectors. You earn every penny!!!!

Most rural counties in West Tennessee still have a good old fashioned fair. The whole bit...rides, ribbons for the best pies, cakes, jams, biscuits, and even the best looking cow or hog.
In the exhibit building at the fair, most businesses will have a booth with giveaways and contests. You must register to win and on the final night of the fair, all the winners are announced. It's loads of fun and you see folks that only come out during fair week.
My question to you.....we are looking for a great idea for our fair booth.....a game to play, or anything new or creative to make our booth stand out in a midst of hundreds. Let's hear them!!!!
Please join us in Lexington, TN. for the Henderson County Free Fair. Lots of good food, fun, and prizes.
Hope to see you there!!!! Opening Night, September 8th.

Received a call from the local newspaper "Congratulating" me on my new listing, the Henderson County Courthouse. How funny!!
Sorry, folks but the sign thief was on the prowl and moved several signs around. The only sign recovered was the one on the courthouse lawn. Guess I should be thankful for that.
But I am very upset. This has been going on for months now and I have spent thousands of dollars in replacement signs. What a senseless waste of hard earned money.
But, you know, the sign thief has made a terrible mistake. The courthouse has cameras. Reminds me of those stupid thieves who perform unlawful acts knowing the surveillance cameras are running. How ignorant.
With the help of the Police Department, sure hope to put an end to this little pranksters late night sign runs. Not just my signs, but several other agents as well. We will all be so thankful for the Police Departments help in this matter..
There is justice in the world, right??? Sometimes it might take longer than we think it should.

Well the last few days, I have had the pleasure of working with a wonderful realtor. He has been such a joy to work with. I was thinking today as we were talking how I wished all interactions were so pleasant.
I have never met this agent. And you know what, I can hardly wait until closing. He is really top notch.
I was driving home from the doctor's office today and made a list of why I felt he was above the crowd:
1. Eager to help.
2. Returned all calls promptly.
3. Funny.
4. Demonstrated integrity....did what he said he would and when.
5. Genuine - no hidden agendas.
6. Unselfish.
7. Appreciative.
Oh, don't we wish all that came in contact with us would say the same things about us.
I am going to strive to be just that good.....starting right now.
