New Pipe Plant means 300 new jobs in Hancock County! Average salary $50,000 a year!
This was reported in the news just today. More great jobs coming to Mississippi. With an average yearly salary of $50,000. What great news!
HANCOCK COUNTY (WLOX) -- South Mississippi's newest manufacturing plant is now hiring and preparing to start production in July. The $100 million steel pipe making facility is going up in the Port Bienville Industrial Park in Pearlington.
"Today we have one main building completed. We have two additional buildings that are under construction right now, so we are in the process of getting this plant up and running," said Brian Vaill, CEO of PSL North America.
The plant will will produce steel pipe for the gas and oil industry. Once operational, the plant will look similar to one in India owned by PSL's parent company.
"The fact that this is the first plant, and the first bit of Indian technology that is being exported to the United States, and having it in Mississippi and Hancock County, I think is just remarkable," Port & Harbor Commission Executive Director Jack Zink said.
Plant leaders say the metal buildings will go up quickly. The work done up to this point was completed in just four months.
PSL Limited Chairman Askok Pung said, "When it's commissioned in three months time, it will be the first of its kind located in the U.S., and perhaps three or four of such facilities worldwide."
When the Hancock County plant is completed it will stretch a half mile long.
"Under roof were going to have about 450,000 square feet, which is equivalent to 10 acres," Vaill said.
The company plans to hire more than 300 people at an average yearly salary of $50,000.
"The vast majority of our positions will be shop floor positions. So we're going to need a lot of men and women out here to man the different stations and perform all the tasks necessary to start with a coil and end up with that finished pipe going out the door," Vaill said.
If you're interested in working at the PSL facility, you may apply at any WIN Job Center.
Production is expected to begin in late July. At full capacity, the plant will produce 300,000 tons of steel pipe a year.
This is the hottest Real Estate market in America right now. I am proud to be a part of it.

Please lets make this night happen. Contact me at 239-210-8245 and I will get your donations to Dave Chafin. The city said they will let the night happen now that Dave has raised $7,000 of the funds needed. Any donations can help.
Parks and Recreation of Cape Coral, Florida have decided to not support the Cinco deMayo celebration in down town Cape Coral this year because 2 sponsors backed out. This is the 2nd busiest and profitable day for local business owners in this area. Often the proceeds from this one day help carry the local businesses into the "off season."
Dave Chafin of the Twisted Conch is on a mission to raise the $10,000 needed to keep this day happening.
So far he raised $4,500.... He needs HELP to keep this annual tradition going. Call Dave with your donation at 230-410-0894 and lets help keep these businesses in the Cape running through another year.
KEEP IT IN THE CAPE!
If you can't reach Dave then stop in at the Twisted Conch located at 837 SE 47th Terrace, Cape Coral, Florida
Let's all help this annual event take place.
