Governor Mike Huckabee On Right To Life

Last Night my wife and I and another couple attended a United For Life event at the Brazos County Expo Center near Bryan and College Station, Texas, at which Governor Mike Huckabee spoke. The Govermnor is an oustanding speaker and anti-abortion advocate. I was so glad we attended the event. Got to shake hands with the man himself afterwards as he held a booksigning for his new upcoming book titled "Do The Right Thing"

All proceeds went to the Hope Pregnancy Centers of Brazos County. By the way The Governor is also an extremely funny man!

Don't Judge the Contents By the Package in College Station Texas

These Giant piers will help support a highway exit ramp in College Station Texas when completed. They are so interesting to observe while being constructed and actually are in 3 pieces. The giant steel molds take days and days to install before pouring the concrete mix, and after the mixture hardens and the molds are removed...... reveal an almost art -like yet at the same time alien looking structure when complete.

The ramp will serve as the exit for Rock Prairie Rd from Hwy 6 in College Station ,Texas.

Great View At Aggieland

I don't know why but this is one of my favorite view at Texas A & M University . Sitting on the 50 yard line and looking northeast between the "Zone" seats and the east side of the stadium you see the old G. Rollie White Basketball building. The Aggie Men now play in a more modern building but there is just something about the old Basketball Building that brings back fond memories. Behind G. Rollie you can see the Oceanography building.

The Sunflower Capitol of Texas

The city of Hearne is known as the Sunflower Capitol of Texas. And it isn't difficult to figure out why... if you just take a ride on a nice sunny day. I don't know for sure how many varieties of sunflowers there are , but the Hearne area seems to have a number of varieties. It is a known fact that if you want some to appear, just plow up some ground and they will do just that. They come up voluntarily in our flower beds and we like to leave a few of them for color.
