Ren & Rob Mortara of Robin Hill Homes & Development (A family owned and operated company from the Flemington area) participated in the "Saratoga 24". A cycling race that is one of several events organized by the Adirondack Ultra Cycling group.

Starting at 8:00AM Saturday morning (July 12th 2008) and going to 8:00AM Sunday morning (July 13th 2008) the two cycled a total of 589 miles during that 24 hour period.

While this event was a FUN event for the two brothers who have been building custom homes in Hunterdon County for more than 20 years, They also are supporters of several fund-raising rides which include the "Lance Armstrong Foundation's Philadelphia Challenge" and participants/sponsors for the local fund-raising of the "Carpe Diem/Girasole Ride". Proceeds of the later ride benefit the Paul R. Nardoni Foundation (Flemington, NJ) which is an organization that provides support for cancer patients and their families with the funds being used on a "local" level at the Somerset Medical Center and the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.

I thought this was a cool way to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer.

Last night while dining at our local favorite restaurant here in Flemington (Matt's Red Rooster Grill) we found out that a portion of the nights receipts were being donated to the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade.
