I originally was googling another local agent's website, when i came across the ActiveRain Network, and I looked it over. Here's my reasoning for joining ActiveRain on March 29th, 2008 and why I'm still in it.
1st reason, To join it was FREE, and as a "New" REALTOR, anything free was great in my book.
2nd reason, I had to enter a profile, of myself, which to this point, hadn't thought of it as a REALTOR.
3rd reason, I had to create blogs and give my opinions, and since I had many too give, I loved it!
4th reason, I absolutely loved the fact, that I could LEARN NEW SKILLS, on my own time.
5th reason, I learned how to create my website, give it personality, add widgets that I thought were
relative to my blog, create links, and learn much more HTML code.
6th reason, Which I think is one of my BEST REASON, I've gained some WORLDLY FRIENDS, and a few
enemies (that help me reason better). ;>)
Now, since I've hit the 20,000 point plateau, I now feel like a true blogger! What should I do now???
I think I'm going to work on taking more local photos and then creating short videos, to display my love of the Saint John and the other local communities of New Brunswick, Canada. I've really adopted this community and would love to display it to other people around the world. So please be patient with any "bad looking" photos I might take, and I'll be accepting any "constructive criticizm" that will help me create better photos.
So, till next time, when I hit my 30,000 points!!! LOL
;>)

With a recent Telegraph Journal (local Saint John newspaper) article for Tuesday, August 5, 2008 and in the Business section; the article indicated that currenting the New Brunswick tourist marketing campaign was "GENERIC, LACKING and UNSUCCESSFUL."
This area is becoming the Atlantic Canada's "ENERGY HUB" and growing rapidly.
With 102,000 members in the world of ActiveRain and growing in numbers daily, I wanted the rest of the world to be aware of the Saint John, New Brunswick area. Well, after realizing that CANADA had 28 regional markets and none for Saint John or New Brunswick, I finally created the first GROUP.
I thought a symbol would be more effective than a photo, due to my creativity. I began by using WordArt to create the letters, the lightening bolt was a Microsoft image, which I stacked on top of each other. Then, I joined them together as one object, pasted the object in Visio, where I saved it as a .gif file.
This group is for anyone in the Saint John Real Estate business (ex: brokers, Realtors®, bankers, mortgage specialists, trainers, home stagers, media, appraisers, inspectors) and any energy personnel to meet, exchange thoughts and ideas, create effective strategies, discuss economics, network for referrals and discuss anything about Saint John and its surrounding communities.
I encourage all of you in the ActiveRain network to contribute your thoughts, ideas and lessons learned, so that WE can build a stronger, diverse Saint John!
By the way, this was fun creating....

Wow! It's a miracle! Saint John's City Council has finally agreed to construct a $600,000 World Class skateboard park.
Discusssions originated around 1996, but there wasn't a location picked and many delays. In stepped the Fundy Skateboard Association, which was formed to motivate the city into making a decision & keeping it in the forefront within the public's eyes & ears.
New Line Skateparks Inc. have created the design which will be located underneath one end of the Harbour Bridge and will remove a parking area to the Harbour Station. It will be facing the Atlantic Ocean or what we call "The Bay of Fundy" view.
The construction will begin at the end of this summer and hopefully will be finished before the beginning of next summer.
Look out WORLD OF EXTREME SPORTS here comes Saint John to join your ranks and all the additional revenues to follow.
The best part of all, is all the kids of Saint John will have something constructive & fun to do with all of their time, including some adults.

What a wonderful, exciting encouraging and motivating proposal for the Saint John students and their parents, now realizing that a state-of-art Medical School will be housed in the Saint John area. Having a Medical School in the area, will give local students resources for finishing their education locally, without moving out to get the professional training. This will give residents future doctors, nurses and other medical professionals.
Since most employers look to see what services the community have before they move into them. What a ingenious way to entice future employers to locate their corporations in the Saint John, New Brunswick area. This is working on the infrastructure of the community for future years to come.
People will be encouraged to move back, if not, move to Saint John, knowing that their families will have health professionals to visit in a shorter time frame. This is an absolutely wonderful way to motivate the public to a revitalized Saint John in years to come, especially as the uprising energy hub!!!
