Have you ever felt lost!! have you been loaded down with problems then others pileed on and you just had to keep taking care of things one at a time? Well, that's what kept happening to me this last year.

I've been meaning to blog about my new improved home after the foundation got put in but, new grandsons, and weddings and broken ankles and computer viruses just kept getting me down. So here's the house I showed last year when the foundation was being put in, it's ready now and we had a wedding here this summer. Then, I went to Seward to check on some listings and look what I found in Coopers landing, a nice brown bear who didn't look very worried about all the attention.

26^th Annual Rotary Health Fair

Last year about 1,000 people showed up and took part in the activities! South Peninsula Hospital offers Low-cost blood tests and health screenings that can save you money and maybe your life.

Many health screenings and services will be offered at the fair, including blood pressure tests, vision tests, hearing tests and balance tests. Over 60 information booths are confirmed for this year's fair, offering information about health services, senior issues, children's health, hospice services, substance use, physical therapy, diabetes, weight management, alternative medicine, women's health and more.

Comprehensive blood analysis is available through the fair for only $35. Additional PSA and TSH tests are available for $30 each.

Those coming for the tests will need to abstain from food and juice. Only water, should be consumed 10-12 hours prior to the test. In all cases prescription medication should be taken and diabetics should not fast.

Free child care is provided at the fair. Used eye glasses will be collected by the Lyons Club and there is a food drive for the Homer Food Pantry, so bring your cans or non-perishable items.

This is a great event put on By the Homer Rotary Club and the South Peninsula Hospital...Homer is very Lucky to have dedicated people who put this wonderful event on each year...it is a lot of work... so thank the volunteers and roll up your sleeve and get that blood tested!

Okay now this is innovative... Fannie Mae is offering folks who are in trouble with their loans and don't qualify to modify them... a lease in return for a deed in lieu of foreclosure... they get to stay in their homes... lease it back at fair market rent value... this way people get to stay in their home... most likely with lower monthly payments, no property tax and just renter's insurance... the neighborhoods stay intact, children stay in their beds and schools... seems reasonable to me... almost like someone with common sense was in charge for a moment... I am sure there are kinks to work out like who manages the property and all that.... and when the government becomes property managers then we will see what they are made out of hey?
