Why did you choose Stone Creek subdivision? I recently asked Eric, a Stone Creek homeowner in Fairhope, Alabama, that question and he graciously agreed to share his responses with prospective buyers, looking to buy or build on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay.

Me: Why did you ultimately choose Stone Creek subdivision to build your new custom home?
Eric: There are several aspects of Stone Creek that I initially found appealing, like the attractive entrance, large lots and community amenities. Yet, it was natural setting, the seclusion of trees and overall nature aspect that sold me on the neighborhood.
Me: Can you tell us more about how Stone Creek incorporates nature into the neighborhood?
Eric: The developer took the time add features that brought out the natural beauty of the surroundings, like large ponds with fountains and rock water features. The thick wooded landscape of Stone Creek also gives it a natural beauty that is really relaxing.
Me: Now that your home is complete and you have been living in Stone Creek for a while, do you still think you made the correct choice?
Eric: Yes, I could not think of another place in Fairhope that I would rather live!
Me: What more have you realized about Stone Creek that you didn't fully understand prior to being a resident of the neighborhood?
Eric: I am enjoying the community lodge more than I ever thought I would. I think we have the nicest community area of any subdivision in Fairhope. The lodge has space for me to go and work, if I need to get out of the house for a while an don't want to drive to my office. Our pool is awesome. It overlooks our large fishing pond and thick forest. After a long day at the pool, we will often use the kitchen in the lodge and enjoy the scenery from the pool deck over a relaxing dinner. The lodge is just a great place to go and relax. I love it!
Me: If you were forced to move due to a job relocation, what would you miss most about Stone Creek?
Eric: Definitely the sense of pride our residents have for their homes and our neighborhood! Our residents go the extra mile to make sure their property is the best it can be, from their landscaping to the outdoor furniture. All of our homes were custom built, so I also enjoy seeing the personal touches our homeowners have put into each home. We feel really safe living in Stone Creek as well. If there is any suspicious activity going on, a community email is sent out alerting us and even if a resident finds a good rate on insurance or something like that, they will send a mass email to the other residents. The strong sense of community is awesome. It would definitely take a job relocation for me to leave Stone Creek. This is home and I have no regrets.
Me: Thank you for all the great info! I am sure prospective buyers looking for a great place to live on the Eastern Shore or Fairhope, Alabama in particular, will be impressed by your overall satisfaction with Stone Creek.
Eric: My pleasure. If anyone has any questions, they can email you and I will be happy to answer them.
Me: That's awesome! Thank you!

Stone Creek....."It's all about lifestyle."
Stone Creek is a unique community on 330 Acres within Fairhope, Alabama that combines modern-day conveniences within a scenic, natural setting. Located approximately 12 miles south of I-10 on Highway 181, Stone Creek is only a few minutes drive to downtown Fairhope. However, when considering the mixed-use master plan of the development, one will hardly ever have to leave...at most you will be able to simply hop on your bike or get in your golf cart to head to the village center! The community will not only merge homes, villas and town homes, but also retail and service-oriented business oriented to have frontage on Highway 181.
The developers actually traveled the Southeast to look at what other builders were doing in traditional neighborhoods....and now they're working to bring that back here. Rear alleyways, nature trails and sidewalks provide easy access and friendly walkways; abundant open spaces are ornamented with hand-hewn arbors, large boulders and native plants and grasses; tree-lined streets and boulevards are enhanced with surrounding water features such as cascading waterfalls, a stocked lake and a beautiful community swimming pool.
The homes within the neighborhood are each designed and constructed with great care by a Builder's Guild of 17 Builders, each a member of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association. Home designs combine Coastal elements with Southern architectural charm and are reviewed by a professional architecture board at various stages of construction.
This development is unlike anything I've seen in the area and I must say that I'm quite proud to work with Rance Reehl, one of the developers. This community draws people from all stages of life and all backgrounds. Having lived in dense, urban cities, I personally have never quite thought of myself as the "rural" type, but Stone Creek changes my thoughts on that. When all phases are completed, I could easily see myself sitting on my expansive porch...waving to the neighbors as they walk their dogs or stroll their children....wasting away the afternoon OR for a little more spice I would probably jump on my (electric!) golf cart, head up to the village market, grab a cool beverage and some dinner, and head back home for a pot-luck dinner with friends....it really is all about lifestyle.
The Stone Creek Lodge is open every afternoon (and weekend mornings as well) for viewing.
