Come celebrate SummerFest on July 3, 2010 at the Perry County Courthouse Square in Marion, Alabama.

The events will kick off at 9:00 am and will continue until 5:00 pm. Local vendors will offer some great southern fare and will also be selling jewelry, crafts, antiques, and clothing.

Inflatables and horse rides will keep the children entertained throughout the day.

Admission is free to attend and vendor booths may be purchased for $35. The proceeds provide scholarships, and help fund local nursing home projects.

Professional Rodeo returns to Marion, Alabama for the 15th Annual Marion Rodeo taking place June 11-12, 2010.

This rodeo will be sanctioned by the Professional Cowboy Association, with the stock being provided by 3R Rodeo Company from Jemison, Alabama.

Activities for children (8 years and younger) begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, and the main event kicks off at 7:30 pm.

The proceeds of this event will honor the memory of long-time resident of Perry County, John Wayne Friday who passed away in 2009.

Come join the fun and the fierce competition at the 15th Annual Marion Rodeo. The event will be held at the rodeo complex on Highway 14.

Marion, Alabama is celebrating the Muckle's Ridge Festival this weekend, April 23-24.

Live music, tasty food, an arts and craft show, and hot air balloon rides are yours to enjoy this weekend in Marion, Alabama.

Muckle's Ridge, which is now known as the city of Marion, was one of the first towns settled in the area.

The celebration is hosted by a partnership including, the Perry County Chamber of Commerce, Alabama Bureau of Tourism, City of Marion, Marion Military Institute, and the Perry County Commission.

Friday evening's activities will be held at MMI's Parade field on Washington Street. A free concert with Ruins Restored and night (tethered) balloon rides (for a fee) will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Food and drinks will be available from local o. At 7:30, Chevy 6 will perform during the crawfish boil at the Gateway Inn. Later in he evening, County Road 4 is in concert in the lounge at the Gateway Inn. The cost for both concerts will be $5 per person.
