Are you the kind who sometimes starts a discussion just for the sake of doing so? Occasionally do you find a subject that you just need to get off your chest? I believe we are all like that. Just the other day I had a discussion with one of my brokers about a fee they charge when we close a contract. I did not agree with the fee and so being one of those people who sometimes like to get things off my chest and start a discussion just for the sake of doing I went right into the broker's office.
Without giving a thought to any other points of view on the subject I just knew I was right and could not be swayed. The very next day we had our weekly sales meeting and knowing the broker I spoke to I knew it would stay in the office and not go anywhere. Anyway at the meeting we were having our discussion when the same subject was discussed. At my office there is no monthly fee, no charge for using the phones and I do so a lot. Just the other day I made a call to the United Kingdom on an expired. Anyway trying to stay on the subject... The owner at the sales meeting gave an overview of what they pay for us as an agent. Just the fees for the internet postings alone were staggering and they do not recoup their costs unless and until a closing takes place.
If you take into consideration all the agents who really don't do much of nothing it seems to me the firm is losing money but what do I know. My opening topic was every clock twice a day is right but for me I'm still waiting on the first time. Oh well there is another day and another topic time will tell until then remember "It's a great day to buy or sell a home."

No it's not a trick question I think it's a legitimate one. Efficiency for this post is defined as doing things right. Effectiveness is doing the right things. Can you do both we'll see.
If your efficient than your doing things right such as calling clients, walking neighborhoods, completing paperwork on time and all the other good things associated with the word and your work habit.
However if your effective you are not only doing things right your also doing the right things. I know several people who are efficient once they are given something however they are not very effective. The secret is to find a balance and for some people they just can't do it. Does this mean they are not worthwhile no it just means they need a little extra nudge.
I ask you which one are you? We all will want to be effective but are we? The answer lies in your mind and it's for you to decide. Look over the past year and you tell me. As this is your call I do not judge just for thought meanwhile remember "It's a great day to buy or sell a home.

Have you ever asked yourself this question? What is my purpose in life and have I reached the pinnacle of what I was set here to accomplish?
Well we know you've made it through those rough years of growing up and getting out of school. Do you have children (rug rats) and have they made it through those rough years. If so maybe you have accomplished your purpose here on this planet. If not and your single is marriage in your future? Some of us are not the marrying type and that's okay to. Now I ask you as agents do you have a purpose? I believe you do in life people need to survive and to do so they need some basic stuff. Those are food, shelter and clothing, actually some could survive without clothing but that's another subject I won't discuss. Your purpose as agents is to provide a service for those people wanting shelter. Some may need a basic shelter and some are looking for that castle in the sky. Whatever they are looking for it's your job to find it and make sure to transition is a painless as possible.
So do your job and fulfill your purpose remember it's your responsibility but also remember "It's a great day to buy or sell a home."

December 29th 2009 for me is one that I will hold near and dear to my heart for a long time. I had written a blog for ActiveRain a few days earlier and had just forgotten to post it. Before I write a blog something has to inspire me to write. Then after writing a blog I usually wait for a day or two and then reread the blog. Concerning this one I had pulled it up and looked it over one more time. For some odd reason it just did not sound right. I read and reread the post several times but could not come to another wording for my thought and what I wanted to get across.
I came close to deleting the post and just not posting it at all. But for whatever reason I decided to go ahead and let it go anyway. For the most part I average 0-15 comments when I do post. After posting this I noticed a star beside my post. Then before going to work I logged out of ActiveRain and it brought up the featured posts and I was on it.
Man what a trip. I was so pumped to get a featured post on ActiveRain I could hardly contain myself. Last time I looked I had over 40 comments and all but two were positive. I guess the old saying there's always one in the crowd can now extend to there's always two in the crowd.
For those of you who had positive comments thank you and for those two who did not I respect your views. As for me it's late and I'm still pumped. I still say this is a wonderful business and I'm enjoying it to the fullest. Therefore I for myself say "It's a great day (year) to buy or sell a home."

Last month I had a yearly visit with the two brokers of the firm I work at. We went over what I had sold and the money I had made in 2009. They wanted to see a schedule of how my days usually go and wanted to know other aspects of how I do business.
They already knew I for the most part come in every day and usually I'm the first one there. I start the coffee pot and then crank up the old lap top and get started. At 08:01 AM I'm usually on the phone trying for clients (prospecting). If the weather is permitting another agent and I might go door to door with door hangers. Anyway they wanted to know what my goals were for 2010 and how I was going to obtain them. We went over the schedule and I made my prediction of what I would sell in 2010 and that was that.
I have a vision of what I am going to accomplish in 2010 and how I'm going to make it happen do you? If not your far behind and while I'm going great guns you'll be just starting. Set your goals and look to the future it looks great and have your vision of what you'll accomplish in 2010. It's going to be a great year and a great year to buy or sell a home. I haven't worked so hard and had so much fun in doing so in a long time. Make it a good year but remember "It's a great day (year) to buy or sell a home."
