PNM Sky Blue is the eighth-largest renewable energy program in the country for investor-owned utilities. This program is already serving over 13,000 New Mexicans and you can easily make this change by calling PNM at 1-800-687-7854.
There are two ways to participate in this program:
- You can purchase blocks of 100kWh for only $1.80 a block.
- You can select to purchase up to 90% of your monthly usage at 1.8cents per kilowatt hour.
These are in addition to your regular rate. There are no long term commitments. It is easy to sign up and you can cancel anytime.
PNM Sky Blue subscribers purchased enough clean energy last year to have an environmental impact equal to taking 8,879 cars off the road for a year.

How are things in the good ol' 505? Which part of the city (if not all) do you service?
Kaushik - I work all of Albuquerque. As well as Placitas, Corrales, Rio Rancho, and parts of the East Mountain area.
Ashley- Renewable energy is important for so many reasons. I am sure it wil help PNM to keep costs down. I am pleased that along the government, leadership at the city and state level are also working on keeping us supplied with energy and solvent for the long run.
Ashley this is an interesting posting. I recently saw where Costco's is selling wind turbines for residential use. Also last summer I sold a home to a gentleman that told me he sold windmills for a living. I found this interesting and upon questioning him he was speaking of these big wind turbines you see on wind farms. He told me tow point about them that I wasn't aware of. 1. he told me they cost about 3.5 million dollars each 2. He told me that from one tip of a blade to the tip of another blade is as Long as a football field! That is a 100 yards or 300 feet! I would never have imagined!
Ashley- Nice job with this post. How does this price compare with the regular power company's? I wish we had a program like this in my area...
Danny - Great additional information. Thanks for mentioning that Costco is selling them I went back in and added a link to it.
Christina - This actually is a program of the regular power company. The cost for most consumers is about $12 a month more. Well worth the cost for clean energy.
Thanks for letting me know about Alburquerque's wind energy - this is so cool - it's amazing what we can do today isn't it.
Cyndee - The advances in clean energy is amazing.
