Take a look at those numbers above. I hear all the time that Kansas City isn't a glamorous city. We lack things to do. We're not world class. Almost invariably, those people have not spent a single day in the city. But let's take fancy lifestyle out of the equation. Let's look at just the numbers from a real estate investing standpoint.

It seems to me that when you are looking for income property to invest your hard earned dollars into that you want to pick a place for those properties that will attract good quality tenants with the wherewithal to pay the rent. Just look at that disposable income compared to some of the more expansive cities.
It also seems to me that you want those rental homes to be in a city known for good, quality education, family values and traditional work ethic. A city where practical still outweighs flashy. Where pie-in-the-sky isn't the norm, reality is.
Take a good look at Kansas City the next time you are looking for residential investment property to purchase or trade into.
Take a look at those numbers above.
On a more personal note...
I pulled that table off NuWire Investor's May 2007 edition. It is an online non-traditional investments website. They kicked off in April and I was excited to be interviewed for and quoted in the May 2007 edition. In the short time I have been aware of them they have opened my eyes to investment strategies that I didn't even know existed. I love learning. And they are a good source to start with. Let me know what you think if you give them a try. I'd love to hear from you.
