Who are you blogging TO ?Who are you blogging TO ? Why do folks blog, or more specifically, blog about Real Estate? Establish their expertise in a transparent medium? Have a forum in which to express themselves freely? Convince consumers/readers that they are the best Realtor/Lender/Professional to use? I'm sure all of these and then some come into play. One can tell quite a bit about a person based on their blogging style(s) and/or content. Brian Brady may just be one of the most knowledgeable 'money' people out there. Karen George knows a heck of a lot about SEO. George Souto is one heck of an ethical guy. Kristal Kraft may know more about Denver then..oh say a random 16 other Colorado natives...combined! I've never met Maggie Dokic, but I'll bet a few bux that she is as genuine and honest a person as one will find in this industry. These are just a few examples. But just because I find out about a person/professional doesn't necessarily mean that they were blogging towards ME. Look, AR is a VERY UNIQUE platform and a good portion of the 'uniquity' is driven by the point structure. At some level, the more points one acquires, the higher a ranking that person gets and consequently more exposure to potential consumers. I think this occurs by two means....and I think some people sway to one side, others to the opposite end of the spectrum, and yet others fall somewhere in the middle. I think some of us blog TO other professionals. Others in the industry are our target audience. Those of us feel the need to be perceived as experts by our peers. We want other agents/lenders/professionals contacting us with questions. This establishes 'us' as a true authority. I think others still blog TO the consumer directly. Market information, area information, tips for homebuyers or sellers. What to do, what not to do, what to watch out for. ME? I'm guilty. I believe I fall somewhere in the gray area between these two styles of blogging. I love talking to consumers, I love talking to other professionals. And I definitely enjoy hearing back from both. What about YOU? Who are you 'talking to' when you blog??
