Home sale statistics for May 2007 compared to May 2006 in New Jersey's Gloucester County
What a great time to be considering a move in Gloucester County, NJ. Prices have been steady, and buyers are more encouraged to buy then ever. Sellers are getting a fair price too.
Well according to the residential sales statistics for Gloucester County, NJ for the month of May 2007 there were 722 homes listed for sale and 321 under contract, and last year the numbers were 686 and 363. At this point, more homes are listed and less under contract then the same period last year. The sales (year to date) in Gloucester County this year were 1278 as compared to 1403 last year. The average days on the market has increased to 78 from 53 last year.
It's obvious from these statistics that the market is slower. Also, due to recent trends it appears that some home owners have decided to put their move on hold. Not as many homes have sold, so home owners are staying in their current homes.
Throughout New Jersey, 2007 is so far a more competitive year for sellers, and different strategies need to be considered and implemented to entice buyers to even consider your home over others that are also available. Also, many more choices are out there, so buyers are taking a little longer to make a decision. For some strategies to help your home sell quickly in any market conditions feel free to contact me.
