Drivers in Columbus can expect to be involved in an accident about once every 9.1 years. Not so bad, really, when you think about it but still well off the best city in the U.S., Cedar Rapids Iowa, where you can expect to collide about once every 15 years. Of course, they still drive horses and mules in Iowa, don’t they? Dayton came in at number 15 and every other Ohio City also did better but Columbus is a better place to drive than Chicago, San Fancisco, New York, Detroit and Austin, among others. Washington D. C. was the worst. Crashes Happen According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Traffic Facts, more crashes occur on Saturdays than any other day of the week. Sunday ranked second and Friday came in third. Additionally, most collisions happen between 3 and 6 p.m. From 6 to 9 p.m. ranked second and 9 p.m. to midnight finished third.
