The Fourth of July in Brownsville is all you imagine a summer holiday in rural America to be.
Brownsville Oregon will be hosting its annual
Fourth Of July event - July 4, 2007
The morning will begin at 8:00 am with a pancake breakfast at the park pavilion. Pancakes, eggs, ham, marionberry syrup, hot coffee, all served with the entertaining antics of the volunteer fireman pancake flippers and the dancin' grooves of the serving chicks.
To make sure that town residents don't miss out on the delicious food and fun, the town leaders send out the "sound truck" to inform residents their presence is requested. Make sure to join the crowd for an early morning tradition.
Most folks will spend the entire day in the park, playing ball or competing in the horseshoe pitching contest.
You'll find several excellent restaurants serving dinner in Downtown Brownsville, as well as a BBQ chicken dinner served in the park.
As evening approaches, the old ball field fills with residents and guests, friends from out of town, and school chums who haven't seen each other all summer.
The volunteer fireman pass out ice cream to the youngsters., as tunes of bluegrass or country fill the air. As the darkness descends, you'll feel the BOOM! of the fireworks as they fly up to fill the night sky overhead.
As the evening ends, town residents fold up their chairs and stroll home, waving farewell to our welcomed visitors and guests.
There is nothing quite like an old fashioned Fourth of July event in 'little town USA', and we hope to see you there!
