First Annual Graffiti Awareness DayAs with any large (and sometimes small) city, "taggers" spray paint images and words on neighborhood walls, businesses and basically everything in between, sometimes hitting the same area multiple times. Mayor Oscar Goodman has been very vocal about tagging in the past, vowing to implement stricter penalties for taggers, citing that Clark County spends more than $30 million a year to clean it up. Now the community is getting involved and held its first first Graffiti Awareness Day in Nevada. Planning to get the community out to affected businesses and paint over the graffiti. Materials were made available from 8 am to noon today at the Hollyood Recreation Center and the West Flamingo Senior Center. The city of Las Vegas and the County are also handing out materials as well. |
