OKLAHOMA CITY REAL ESTATE UNDER WATER!

June here is supposed to be hot as a firecracker!  Instead, this summer we are about to wash away after 18 consecutive days of rain, frequently torrential.  More of the same is forecast for the foreseeable future.  Now we know how Noah must have felt when he decided to build the ark!

Flood warnings continue, motorists continue to be rescued after driving into high water, and potential home buyers remain sheltered under their own roofs rather than venture out to look for new homes.

The constant rain has, of course, brought home construction in our area to a grinding, if wet, halt.  Due to the construction delays, this week the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association voted to postpone the annual Parade of Homes, scheduled for September 22-30, to October 20-28.

Even after the rain stops, it will take some time for construction sites to dry out.  Believe me, you do not want to chance having Oklahoma red clay tracked onto the beautiful champagne-colored cut Berber carpet in your new Parade home!

Hopefully, by October the soggy red mud will have been replaced by lush green sod, and the 175 or so new homes featured in the Parade will be ready to welcome thousands of eager Oklahoma home buyers! (Hopefully also, at least a few of them our clients!)
