I Took Some Time off From Active Rain to Sell Some Real Estate!

I want youBloggin is one of the best things that has ever happened to me since REMAX CompuServe Forum! Friendships, brainstorming, networking, an sharing ideas are great! Personally, I've found blogging addictive and almost compulsive, but it has allowed me to attain some new goals. First of all, I am getting new ideas here all the time, those ideas generate more ideas! Ideas can lead to implementing new marking strategies, and those can hopefully lead to more closed business. I promise you, you will not be disappointed here! Active Rain Want you to learn and prosper also!

Active RainIn the past week or so, you probably noticed I was not posting my usual number of Blogs here on Active Rain! That was mainly because we have gotten very busy! Yes, busy even in this market! That is a good thing! Some of the business is directly related to Active Rain posts!

Even though my Atlanta real estate website www.AtlantaBestHomes.Com has a fairly high web exposure, my client told me he went brain dead! He had lost some contact information so in Google he typed in "Roswell real estate Jim Crawford" Guess what? My profile for Active Rain came up #1! We listed him yesterday! We have another listing coming up July 2 from an out of state seller! Guess where she found us? Again, profile for Active Rain! We also are got our own home under contract from of all places? My blog on Active Rain that was made with http://www.postlets.com/flyer! http://activerain.com/blogsview/112628/Alpharetta-New-Listing-CAR The term searched? "Alpharetta new listings for car lovers!" We were # 1 on Google! We are scheduled to close in August, and also resulted in a listing (BTW...No other agent is involved on that sale!) We also have just placed 3 other deals under contract, and one of those there is no other agent involved! The other deal was a listing, and a sale! So it has been a long busy week or so, but very productive! I missed Active Rain, but was happy to be productive again! I am extremely grateful to all the tools and ideas that I've learned here, and have already applied them!

Jim, congrats on the business. I too took a bit of a break from AR to keep up with my incoming business. In addition, I had 2 new contacts from AR today, which will likely become my next clients. Thanks for the post.

Ryan thank you!  I tooka  break from my webs tonight to get this in as I was updating my Atlanta real estate site for the 4th of July, and with new listings etc!

Jim = did notice you had not posted for awhile.  I had the same thing happen -- then I had a breather -- and posted two localism posts - both were featured -- now I am getting busy again -- so I guess it will be a few weeks until I can concentrate on a post.  Congratuations on the Raindrops -- it is great when people find us on AR.

Jim,

Nice to see you again! Nice to hear about your success! :)

Chuck my extended drought is over!  The drought has ended with some real rain from ActiveRain!

Active Rain

Yes, Jim.... planting seeds. I love this blog. I plan to sell some real estate soon and being away is sooooo hard.

Suzanne Thanks!  I'll share the rest of the success when they close!  I never believe it is over until it closed!

Welcome back Jim.  Glad to hear you are busy at being successful!  I look forward to your blogs & comments.

Loreena!  It is hard being away!  But sales make it fun!

Congratulations on the deals.  We're new to AR and looking forward to some of that success coming our way.

Thanks Stacy and Jackie!  You will find loads of great ideas here and business leads!

Active Rain IS good Google Juice

Carol it is.  But I view it as just another tool to enhance my Internet business on www.AtlantaBestHomes.Com

Jim,

Congratulations on just starting to see the fruits of your labor. Thanks for sharing your successes. I'm sure this post will inspire many.

Thank you Anthea!  Let's hope so!

Congrats on being too busy to blog!  I am new here, but amazed and impressed with the plethora of knowledge here.  I see why you were addicted :)

I received a contact from Active Rain as well...I took the buyer's out last Saturday and will be going out again on Sunday....preapproved and all! (they said it was a "sign" that they found me on in the internet)

Wonderful what AR does for us isn't it?

Jim - I know what you mean - do you sell homes in Lawrenceville Ga - please email me if you do :-)

( 06/30/07 05:43AM ) — Sybil Holcomb

Congratulations!  What a great reason to be away.  New business.

( 06/30/07 06:03AM ) — Teresa Boardman

What a concetp. :)  I find that it is almost impossible to keep up with active rai and my business blog.  When I sell real estate I am away from my computer.

( 06/30/07 06:06AM ) — Maurice McLaughlin

Jim..glad to see you experiencing the busy part of real estate...The "A"  Time...also gongrats on your home sale!

( 06/30/07 06:25AM ) — Todd Murphy

I get "rained" on early each morning, the I go to work.  Glad to see your tearing it up over there.

Yahoo..good for you Jim....AR and Coffee has become a ritual...they both get my brain started in the morning....and it's far too easy to say you "blog later" and later never comes.

Hi Jim,

I too started to get busy most of this week.I am going to be finalizing a lease and the customer came from a lead on Activerain. And the not only was the customer mine ...the listing was also mine. He somehow googled and my name came up in his search..how cool is that. First lead is a done deal! Also I will be getting a listing from a fellow activerainer. Her parents have a home out of her area and since we speak a lot..she interviewed me as well as another..well guess where I was last night? At the home getting the listing...they will be faxing the paperwork back shortly. I still managed to post early that morning..so I do still find time in between to log on..congrats on your success here and out in the field.

( 06/30/07 06:35AM ) — Linda Reynolds - Bradenton Real Estate

That is great news, I can't wait for the Florida market to turn around so I am so busy I don't have time to blog as much.  Best of luck to you.

Congratulations Jim on the raining success!!  How great that is and proof that blogging can really pay off.  And welcome back - more blogs to write, more business to deal with - how sweet!!

Ann

Congratulations. I would like to take time off to sell RE. But the only thing I am doing is prospecting and open houses. AR keeps me motivated so until I find a serious buyer I will continue doing what I ma doing.I ahve listings , not moving.

( 06/30/07 06:41AM ) — Tim Maitski "Secret Agent Guy"

Jim,  Glad to see that it's all paying off.  Selling your personal home without any commissions is pretty sweet.  Glad to see you back.

Jim, I wondered where you were ? I've been busy too. But, I don't have my first lead( or at least they haven't told me ) from AR. I have got several from FaceBook, weird huh ?

Wow, congrats! I wish you continued success!

( 06/30/07 09:21AM ) — Steven Shewell, The Mortgage Maverick

Successful selling is addictive - almost addictive as AR!  However, you need money to pay the bills to have the time to "play" on AR so...

Go get 'em tiger!

Go Jim Go!  :-P  Thats awesome, you've got me reinspired to keep hacking at it.  Being a new guy I'm still trying to pull of my first listing contract.

Jim - you may have been away from blogging, but it sound as if you were very involved with Active Rain during your business hiatus.

Awesome news Jim!  Congrats on all your success.

Congrats..we are AR newbies and we hope to have some AR success stories real soon.  Greetings from Myrtle Beach....

When I am busy, like now, I find that I still try to take time for AR. However, I am usually taking that time early in the AM, or late at night.

Thanks for your post. Yes, AR is being seen by the search engines. That's a good thing for sure.

Jim, nice post....it does make our efforts worth while when things come together.  I have had two very good referrals as a result of AR and it has helped my own website placement as well.

Jim,

AR can be a profitable business partner, no question. It's a marketing tool, networking place, information source and probably a lot of other things, too. Still, serious work is needed for results. As you point out, there's life outside AR and some sort of balance is good.

Wow!  I am surprised at all the comments.  This is exactly what I am talking about. You have support here, sharing, mentoring and friendship!  I am going to do more focused localism posts to the aeas I serve, to see what type of business that can develop.

Jim, I am so busy working I haven't had time to even read AR.  Way to go!  I really need to focus on Localism.  I'm missing leads.  Got to go!  I've got postlets to publish!

Congratulations Jim, Another Great Post. And it is true, I also need to do a bit of the former and hope to maintain the later. It seems I even put put a client on hold once when I was trying to finish a post. Accidentally of course, right.

Congratulations Jim.  Your presence is definitely missed when you are away but its good to see it was for a great reason!!  Keep up the good work!!!

Kay Active Rain is a great tool if I focus on real estate wiht links adn local articles. I think it is easy to fall into a social aspect of it.  But for networking, ideas, Active Rain Rocks!

William  Thanks!  I have to focus on what pays the bills!

Kimberly!  Thanks, will do!

( 06/30/07 08:47PM ) — Patrick Harfst, CRS

Congratulations!  Have a great 4th!

Jim,

Wow, congratulations and keep up the good work.  The internet and AR have helped me in my business as well and it's fun.  I've been busy and find I'm slipping in my ranking.  I find it VERY distressing, but I'm trying not to think about it.

Fran
