Gilbert is growing.  New construction galore.  As more and more people move into Gilbert the amount and number of retail outlets will also grow correspondingly to meet growing demand.  A HOOOOOGE mall, in the form of the SanTan Village shopping center is set to open this fall per the East Valley Tribune.  This mall will be based on 120 acres located at Williams Field Road and the Loop 202.

This mall has been in Gilbert's general plan as early as the 1980s but only in 2003 did residents approve a bond for said mall.  The mall is expected to house approximately 130 "tenants" (aka shops/vendors etc.).
