  • Mixing Work and Play

Where else but Google ? According to Forbes Magazine, Google is Named the Best Place to Work in 2007.

Google is located at the McKinley Town Center on the corner of S. Division in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The offices of Google in Ann Arbor are awesome. According to CNN Magazine one application is received every 25 seconds. Over the next 5 years, they will add over 1000 employees to the Ann Arbor location. It is attracting employees from all over the country that want to work in a innovative and creative place to work.

Needless, to say, but we are estatic they are here! I have my first of hopefully many closings with a Google family on Thursday. Formally head of Google in Poland and what a great client.

To see more pictures and information read the article in the Michigan Daily the University of Michigan Newspaper.

Wouldn't you love to work in an office like this ?

Missy, I'm sure Google's perks ensure that they can have their pick of the best employees.  It reminds me of Henry Ford's policy in the 1920s of paying his employees at the then unheard-of rate of $5.00 per day.  The policy generated great loyalty and prevented unionization of his factories.

Missy,

I`m sure Google is a very happy place to work.

Like MSFT years ago, those stock options are worth millions...

Google obviously treats their employees as an asset rather than an expense like many companies do.

Brian, so true. Henry Ford was the innovator of his day, just like Google is today.

Scott, yep, wish to heck I owned some.

Wayne, they really do. Why don't more dinausaurs do that ?

Google is taking over the world!! How about a Google Real Estate franchise?

Google's great workplace atmosphere combined with the lovely Ann Arbor homes is hard to beat.

Brad, never say never. Do you want to run it ?

Tina, weren't the office cool ?

Sounds like the place to be.... Hope you get the buyers for the 1000 new homes during the coming years.  Maybe they'll Google you..

Dan, my lead generation site is bringing in lots of buyers. I'm not sure how long it will take to absorb the inventory but Google coming is a bright light on our horizen.

Missy... what's Google?  lol  Seriously..... it sounds like fun. And a Mrs. Potato Head?  cool.....   Did you ever talk to Michael from Google, about my question?  thanks

No I will on Thursday as he has been traveling a lot.

Missy - Only at Google! I'm sure their employees never leave voluntarily.

Paula, I can't imagine they would leave any other way.

Google ....hmm. work and play, my doggie and we got a beautiful place to work...funny, though. I like mine better.

I have also heard that Google is an awesome place to work.  It just goes to show how happy employees are productive employees!

Sally, I love your place all the beautiful flower and in Hawaii, no wonder.

Jonathan, you got it.

Missy, Do they have their own realtors or can their employees use outside realtors? We have a big company here in our area where they offer their employees inside real estate services so for those employees who are selling it cost less to sell.

Wow Missy that would be a great place to work; I have not ever heard of a company providing those kind of perks.

Mana, we signed up to be one of their proferred relo companies in Ann Arbor. Google does not only work with one. Good for them.

Marchel, amazing isn't it ?

It's always great to hear good news about Michigan!  Michigan is home to one of the greatest universities in the world and Google has the "smarts" to recognize this fact!

Yes it is good news for Michigan. Larry Page did his undergrad here.

Missy,

They could pay you in Google tips and it would be a good deal.  Congratulations on landing Google as a relocation client for Ann Arbor.

Sounds WONDERFUL - and in Ann Arbor is a plus - I love Ann Arbor.  I was in training in one of my other careers and always believe that the most creativity and performance comes from an atmosphere where people have fun and LOVE coming to work - this fits my ideal of what is looks like when that happens.

Missy - another great posting - I agree it would still probably be a great place to work, but I think it would have been better to have started before they went public :o)

Rita, I have thoughly enjoyed them !

Cathy, weren't the pictures great ?

Michael, Amen Michael. Me too !

Hey Missy,

Google is an incredible phenomenon.  Their employees are truly lucky to be a part of it.  The executives and major stockholders are buying up one town in Northern California and stiring up the Real Estate pot.  It is crazy!

Jonathan, what would we do without Google ? Good for you, hope you get to work with some of them.

Missy give me that massage room and they would have me for life! Talk about some perks. I am sure Google is a much needed shot in the Ann Arbor real estate arm.

Missy; I am depending on you to get us all preferential treatment from Google... just teasing - what a fun place to work

Ashley, I think I would be getting one a day too.

Thesa, I wish !!!

Missy - maybe they can help offset some of the job losses in Ann Arbor - it's great to have a leading company like that in your area. Do you help buyers and sellers in the neighborhoods around Google? I know you are a great Ann Arbor expert!

Cyndee, there goal is  1000 employees in 5 years. We have lost 350,000 Automotive jobs, so we need more than Google coming, but at least they came to Ann Arbor.

Wouldn't you love to work in an office like this?

Yes, YEs, YES!

Me too !!!!!!!!!!!

What a great place to work for those luck enough to be chosen!

We kinda like Lake Tahoe as a place to work. It's not Google, but it's not bad. Thanks for sharing this with us.

This is great.  We are working on attracting more quality and highly desired employers as well.  I wonder if Google needs another location?!

Missy - I know things have been tough there - at least there is some silver in the lining!

Christina, I just heard that they had an office in Birmingham, Mi yesterday so who knows ?

Jack, yes it is a silver lining.

How wonderful that google is there to counter the auto industry crisis.

It sure is, now if they would just get there 1000 employees hired befor 2012 !!

Missy, I just want to congratulate you on closing with a Googler.  It doesn't surprise me that they found you.  Way to go.  ;-)

Karen, thanks. She found me on line and then I worked with their relocation company.

I was married in August of 2003 and at my wedding, a friend (who works for Merrill Lynch) said to me "I have one piece of advice.  Every penny that you receive as a wedding gift should be invested in Google stock!  I am not kidding!"  Of course, my husband and I blew it all on a dream vacation to Kauai.  =)

I absolutely love having Google here in Ann Arbor!  CHEERS to your blog!

Theresa, hi wouldn't that be lovely to own Google stock ? Oh well, I'm glad there here too, sold a house this summer to a Google transferee.

Thank you for sharing great infromation!  Keep up the good work.
