300 Posts and 200,000 Points on Active Rain

When I joined Active Rain last year, the top person in my state had about 13,000 points.  I remember thinking that is a lot of points.  I can't imagine writing that much.

Well here I am today with a total of 300 blog posts, 50 featured and 200,000 points.

Back when I hit the 100,000 point mark I mentioned that I am a 2 finger typist.  I know that surprised a few and gave others a chuckle.  Believe it or not I still am a two finger guy.  On a rare occasion I can get a third finger going.  Old dogs sometimes really don't learn some new tricks.

Since joining Active Rain, I have made many new friends, too many to list here.  I have shared a lot of my knowledge and experience, but gained much more than I gave.  This forum is tremendous.  I never thought I would be a blogger, but here I am. 

I would be neglect if I did not thank David Kucic who invited me here.  He convinced me to check out Active Rain, something I would never have done on my own.  The rest is history.

Every time I think I am hitting writers block a get a surge of creative energy.  I never thought I would have enough to say that I would be posting number 300.  When joining Active Rain, the thought of 200,000 points was such a foreign thought.  No one was even close to 100,000.  With the addition of http://www.localism.com/ there were additional ways to reach the public, improve our search engine presence and gain even more points.

Since jointing I have invited a few folks.  Those that did join actually join, came after me asking them more than a couple of times.  The most active of that group is Woo Sally from our office at Century 21 Liberty Homes.  In a very short period of time Celeste "Sally' Cheeseman has climbed to the number two blogger in Hawaii and will reach the 100,000 mark in the next few weeks.

I want to give a special thank you, to those who have created this exceptional forum for sharing of knowledge and experiences.  They have done a great job of building and constantly improving Active Rain!

I also want to thank the regulars here on Active Rain who welcomed me when I first joined and encouraged me.  This has been an extremely pleasant and fruitful experience and I am looking forward to next 200,000 points.
