Olathe Kansas is Celebrating it's 150th Birthday with the Bumble B. Boot Sculpture
Garmin International sponsored one of twelve cowboy boot sculptures displayed around Olathe Kansas in celebration of Olathe's 150th birthday. This boot sculpture is called the "Bumble B. Boot". It provides details of what the 1860s travelers would see as they make their way in stagecoaches to the Mahaffie Stagecoach stop. If you can set yourself back in time and imagine the images of nature that could be seen along the way, you would see vast open plains of wheat fields and blue skies. There would also be sunflowers swaying in the breeze and an occasional bumble bee buzzing by. In the distance, travelers to Olathe would see the courthouse, a sign of Olathe's commitment to progress.

Happy Birthday Bumble Bee Boot
Ginger, kind of interesting that the beginning of the cowboy boot was in Olathe, Kansas!
David - We used a Garmin GPS while vacationing in Arkasas. It was really amazing. I know we saved hours, gasoline and a lot of aggravation. Wow, Olathe, home of cowboy boots and Garmin. Who'd a think it?
Those are very interesting sculptures! I never would've guessed there was anything like that anywhere.
Marlene, Olathe has a lot of great opportunities and Garmin is just two blocks from my house. I've watched the company grow from ground zero! Great company, if people only knew the founders and what they are doing! Thanks for sharing!
Pamela, Kansas City had cows a few years ago, then they had other sculptures. Olathe is the home of the cowboy boot so it just seemed appropriate for Olathe to do boots! They are really quite amazing up close! Thanks for sharing!
