Lucky, it looks like you are LUCKY to live in such a wonderful place as Davenport, Iowa. I must come for a visit sometime. Davenport, Iowa has been receiving a lot of positive recognition lately. IMO it's been long overdue!
You should come on over and check her out. This weekend is the Bix 7 mile run and Bix Fest which brings in about 17,000 runners from all over the world (lot of Kenyans win) and tens of thousands of people who enjoy the Jazz culture of our area.

Davenport certainly appears to be a lovely city. I've not had the pleasure of visiting Iowa but hope to get there one day. What other areas of the state do recommend to visitors?

Pella, Iowa is a beautiful little town with heavy Dutch influence. Their tulip festival in the spring is spectacular! They hand wash the streets before the parade even! Their bakeries featuring Dutch Letters are to die for and their hospitality is wonderful!
Dubuque, Iowa is also a good bet for visitors. With the trolley car ride up the steep bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, many small town shops to stroll, and parks with beautiful vistas this area offers much to see.
Above all of them is Davenport, Iowa! We offer a copious amount of entertainment, parks, culture, gambling, art, Mississippi River views and rides, ....you name it......we have it. I would've included more features in this post but I didn't want it to turn into a novel! :) Because I can really brag about Davenport!

These new graphics are just plain weird. I know they are suppose to help stop spam but I haven't noticed a difference......except in what I have to type in!
Speaking of riding your bike........since we were kids there are so many bike paths added around the Quad Cities that I think I should do a post on all of them. What do you think?
