Utah's mountain resorts are famous for their summer activities tooYes, Utah is famous for its amazing winter resorts, but do you know what else you could do to occupy your time if you came to Utah? You might be surprised at how much there is to do here in the winter AND summer. Here's a little look at what else some of the mountain resorts offer other than great snow. Snowbird is known for it's winter activities, but in the summer, you can ride down its 1,000 foot zipline, ride the mechanical bull, take ATV tours and horseback rides in Mineral Basin, and ride the new Peruvian Express chairlift and Tunnel. After completing these or any one of the many other activities available, you can relax and enjoy the amazing views that Snowbird offers. Brighton is a wonderful resort for hiking. Hikes up to lakes Mary, Martha, Catherine, Blanche, and others offer astounding mountain views and an occasional glimpse of native wildlife. After a long hike, nothing is more refreshing than a stop at the Brighton Store for a cold drink or snack. There is also trout fishing and a trail at nearby Silver Lake. Another favorite is Solitude Mountain Resort. Here there is a great 18 hole Frisbee golf course, mountain biking or Diggler Scooters on their awesome single track trails, and beautifully scenic chairlift rides. Indoors at Solitude is as much a treat as outdoors. The Essentials Spa will treat you like a king or queen, and you'll eat like one at the Stone Haus Pizzeria & Creamery. And I have to say the condos there are fabulous and perfect for a weekend of relaxation. And finally, although there are many others, Park City Mountain Resort offers just as much in the summer as in the winter. Here you'll find the mile+ long Alpine Coaster, the original Alpine slide, the worlds first and longest ziprider, and a bunch of other activities at the base. Park City's historic main street, which is very close to the resort, offers fine dining, shopping and historic site seeing. Utah is great in the summer. Before you know it there will be snow in the mountains, so get up there soon!
