Further Proof Of Kansas City Real Estate Bubble Bursting!!! A Must Read!

See, I can tell who watches the national news and/or cable news networks. They are constantly asking me about the real estate bubble bursting and how bad is the market?

Here I have actual proof of the Great Kansas City Housing Bubble Burst of 2007. From today's Kansas City Star they report that sales are down on data reported for April - June compared with last year...

Check out these numbers if you want further proof!!!!

  • Florida - down 41.3%
  • Nevada - down 37.5%
  • Arizona - down 23.4%
  • Maryland - down 21.1%
  • California - down 19.8%
  • Kansas City area - down 0.7%

I don't know about you but I was staggered by our numbers. I've been wrong. We are in a huge crisis here in the Kansas City area. Sell. Sell NOW! Slash prices by 15%-20%. But just get out! Live on the streets if you have to. But don't take that chance.

What? We still have very modest appreciation? Darn. I was hoping for more headlines!

(Obviously tongue-in-cheek opinions should not be follwed!)

LOL!  Even though my state is listed I am still laughing.  Cute!

Renee - this too shall pass!

Gosh Chris, I wish Florida was doing better with the numbers. Hey, I believe things are turning around for the good.

Chris, here I am commenting on your blog as usual with nothing good to say. Why are you "lording" it over the rest of us? Less than one percent? What kind of a personal challenge is that?

Bill Roberts

Chris - Wow - those are staggering numbers - we're seeing some things picking up let's hope this is near bottom - the mortgage industry isn't helping any - oh well - did I mention I love my job and we are very busy :-) - just keep plugging along!!! Mostly wanted to say "HI"

Diane - A correction should have been expected.  All economies are cyclical.  Of course, people made fun of me for saying that for 5 years.

Bill - Not lording it over.  Just making fun of the gloom/doomers here in KC.  National news doesn't recognize us so people think when they watch cable that we must be included in that.  The tv is more powerful than me.  So I just keep yelling from the mountain top.  It's not to make fun of everyone else...it's to make fun of the bears here in KC.  We don't get the highs, why should we get the lows?

Cyndee - Funny how people can be busy even in bad times.  I don't think culling the herds is necessarily a bad thing.  (Sorry NAR...I don't agree with your silent policy that everyone should have a real estate license.)

Chris, are you trying to say it's flat in Kansas?

Bill Roberts

P.S. This is 25th comment of the day, so it wasn't for points. Just for you.

Chris,

You must not have heard, but up here in Liberty we just had a house actually spontaneously combust and totally disappear, the lot too, there's absolutely nothing left where it once stood. Luckily it was a few houses from mine so I won't fall off into the abyss when I mow my yard. We must be in a housing bubble because that's what happens when a bubble bursts. Right?

I was reading a really good real estate investment book called "Equity Happens" and they talked about how one of the authors owned a bunch of stock in mortgage.com in 2000 and when the company when belly up he lost all his money invested in it.  Shockingly, even though the business was gone the building they had their offices in was still there.  Where would you rather have had your money mortgage.com or the building?

Chris, cute!  I guess I'm surprised and I live here!  Glad to know we are the stable core!! :-)  My best to you!

Bill - I've heard it all...a thousand times.  :)

Kurt - True.

David - Thanks.  And to you.

Ty - Keep it up.
