First, a little ditty from Uncle Milty.
"I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are." Milton Berle
Tonight I'll close with this. I can read this over and over, its impact can be huge!
We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents, or our times or country of birth, or the circumstances of our upbringing. We do not - most of us - choose to die but within all this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we shall live - courageously or in cowardice, honorably or dishonorably, with purpose or adrift. We decide what is important and what is trivial, What makes us significant is what we do, or refuse to do. We decide and we choose and so we give definition to ourselves. Joseph Epstein
