Yes BMX bike enthusiasts, we are finally getting our BMX track. The city of Camarillo is opening its first BMX track before the end of October 2007. The only other local BMX bike track is located in Simi Valley, at Sycamore BMX.
Camarillo's future BMX track is located at Freedom Park. The track is about 1,000 feet long and almost 30 feet
wide and open for practice from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays in October. In January the track will open for competitions. The city of Camarillo plans to host local competitions, state and eventually national competitions.
Our small city of Camarillo is becoming more eminent due to the amenities our city is providing its citizens and visitors.

Mana - great info - Camarillo has so much to offer! Thanks for keeping us posted.
Excellent post Mana! Your area seems to be very well rounded in terms of activities for residents. The BMX bike track will just add to the many things to do. Thank you for sharing this information.
Mana - You won't find me on one of those, but great news for Camarillo! Hey - did Atlanta spam you? That's a new one:)
Mana,
They had one of these where we used to live in Georgia and it was very popular. All the competitions brought in crowds that spent at the local businesses. I hope your new BMX track in Camarillo is popular too!
I love motocross - how fun :o)
Mana, what fun ! I would love to have one in Ann Arbor.
Mana--What great fun! There is a BMX indoor bike track in Lino Lakes Minnesota and the kids (boys and girls) just love it!!

Teri, I am kinda nervous about this one, I mean broken bones and stuff.
Jeff, Well, my boys, 19 & 17, have not shown that much interest, but my 40 year old boy is looking forward to driving me nuts with another activity that can really hurt his body and wallet.

Oh, come on! You'd love the competition among the ladies class. We've got a few moms racing here too. Might as well, if you're going to be there. It's just bicycles!

Susie, Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
I just heard from Mary Bigelow - she's a national competitor in BMX! Check out her bio photo.
Mana & Jeff - BMX is a terrific sport for kids. Don't rule out ADULTS though! We have many ladies and men who race in the upper age groups (and are actively recruiting more ladies so we have better competition!) It has become for us a great family sport. The tracks are all 100% volunteer which means there is a place where everyone can compete whether on wheels or on land -- or both!
BMX is back! and will be an Olympic Event beginning with the Beijing Games in 2008.
Mary, I had no idea BMX was an Olympic event now.
