Because of ActiveRain I Decided to "re-invent" Myself

Because of ActiveRain I Decided to "re-invent" Myself by Bill Roberts

I joined ActiveRain just a little over two months ago. I was a complete "newbie" as I had never blogged before. I had heard of it but I was sure that it was only something kids did.

What did I know? I had never blogged or even read a blog. Well, that isn't quite true. When doing a Google search on something or other a link to a Brian Brady post came up. It was his article entitled "I love Dingbats" which immediately made me think of someone near and dear. I read his post. The fact that it was on AR did not register with me at all.

Then I got "invited" to join ActiveRain by William Johnson. It was a day that changed my life.

Because of ActiveRain I have reached down deep inside of myself. I have "examined" who I am, what I am doing, and what I know.

I have written many articles on what I know, so now all of you also know what I know.

I have written about what I am doing. I have "examined" what I am doing.

I decided that a change might be good.

I have been a real estate broker in California since 1975. That's a long time. I've been licensed long enough to be exempt from Continuing Education but I'm not old enough yet to be exempt. How did that happen? Oh well, someday.

But I haven't sold houses in years. I've kept up on everything and I'm a Realtor and a member of our MLS. Writing here (AR) and commenting on other people's posts has re-wakened my interest in retail real estate. Just at a time when the industry is contracting. I'm thinking about opening a couple retail offices. How crazy is that?

The practice of real estate is in for some major changes. I want to be part of the change process. What better way than by having my own offices and leading by example?

If this comes to pass, it is only because of ActiveRain and all the great people that "live" in this community.

You can read what I think needs to change by reading "To Be or Not To Be, legally Speaking."

I am truly interested in what you have to say.
