Having a positive attitude in todays market

Hello Everyone,

I would like to encourage my fellow Realtors, Sales Associates, and assistants to stop thinking negatively about the current market and start to communicate a positive response to customers. The only way (I feel) to get the current conditions to change is by our attitude towards the existing conditions. Forget the media, what do they really know, they are possibly the reason the market is where it is now. If WE TAKE CHARGE (as we should always be doing with our customers) then WE WILL CONTROL the SITUATION. The vast few of us that work at Real Estate as a full time passion realize that we are still listing and selling homes. We don't give up we find a way to continuously make things work. Negative does not exist in my vocabulary, my cup is always half full and it will always be. If someone is looking for their dream home, I will find it for them. I listen to their picture perfect paradise and I find it for them. I would love to hear some feedback from those of you who feel the same. LET'S MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND CHANGE THE NEGATIVE MARKET INTO A POSITIVE ONE!!! ANYONE WITH ME?

Join me and Have a GREAT DAY!!!

I agree, there are so many positive things going on inthe real estate market today. Apparently the media doesn't feel any of that would make much of a story.

Roy,

Exactly, bad news is all they portray...We need to step up to the plate and change the story. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  We can make a change! We need to get together and do it.  WE NEED TO BE HEARD! Enough of this negativity, let's stick together! Postive change for the future!

Thanks for the reply,

This isn't just about positive thinking.

This is about taking control of a situation and not letting someone else like the media do it.  For years the media has openly admitted that good news doesn't sell advertising on the news programs, so they have to put a spin on it that is profitable.  Doom and gloom is always easier to sell than a story that says "it's gonna be tough, but we can - will - do it".

This IS going to be difficult.  But let's get the doomsayers and pessimists out of the business.  Or at least at the back of the class and lift this industry up by the bootstraps.

My father used to have a saying...IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME!

Absolutely the market is weird but we need to defend why we do what we do and why we are valuable.  Battle the nay-sayers

I love it , they air a story about the bad market and the next day call to see if you want to advertise.   A positive attitude will take you a long way.

Bruce, Ian and Bob,

Thank you for the support. WE will be the ones to make the change! ! ! LET'S TOGETHER AND DO IT!!!

I want to be known as Karen, the positive Real Estate agent in today's market! I WILL ( WITH SUPPORT LIKE YOU GUYS! ) make this work!

LET'S GET TOGETHER AND DO IT!

CORRECTION.

Apparently, I didn't know you couldn't re-post...new to here.

Thanks though,

I think it is important for everyone who is actively selling to think positive.

That's my mindset and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for your responses,

Karen

Great post Karen!

Too many agents get caught up in the hype of the media and loss focus of their goals and purpose. Great agents continue to be successful in any market, check the REALTOR board stats. There continues to be home sales every month. Are you one of those agents? It all starts with a positive attitude!

Regards,.....John

John,

You set the stage for our attitude with the postive setting you set in the office.  You mentor us all! You train us one-on-one without complaint.  You set the atmosphere such, that we work together and like it!

Positivity in our office is becoming epidemic as I see the attitudes changing, especially with some of those who were negative for awhile.

Thank you for being a great mentor!
