Here's the deal on the new bridge at I-215 and 4500 South

As I've driven to work every day for the past few weeks, I've become more aware of a huge bridge being constructed alongside I-215 and 4500 South.  I wasn't sure if they were building a big elaborate overpass over the existing bridge or what.  Well if anyone else out there has been curious like me, I asked around and found out what they are planning to do.  My father works that the offices of the construction company in charge of this bridge (Wadsworth Construction), and he had told me that this bridge will be built as much as possible alongside the freeway, then when they can't do anymore they will close the freeway for 2 days and 4500 South for about 7 days and demolish the existing bridge.  They will then lift the new bridge and lock it in place of the old one, and there you have a new bridge.  I don't believe any bridge in Utah has been built like this one before, so it's not surprising that people don't understand what is going on.

So now you know the next time you drive by.
