Cyndee, Well the Sandpearl residence should be happy that they got at least some boat slips instead of none.

Yeah!  I know that this was a big topic for Clearwater.  I am so happy for all of you.

Mana - I believe they are - the actual point of contention ended up being from the luxury condo owners at Belle Harbor where the boat slips are going in - they worried the the "public" boaters would be too rowdy - at one point people the Clearwater City commissioners were going to have a fist fight - I guess tempers flair everywhere when people are passionate.

Stephanie - I'm glad North Clearwater Beach got some new boat docks - it's a great place to walk across the street to Frenchy's or the Palm Pavilion!!

Teri - it will be a good thing for Clearwater residents - the fact that locals will also benefit is a big plus. Commissioners wanted to balance the good to the locals and the Sandpearl condominium owners.   

Cyndee - I can imagine this was a heated topic. Are boat slips common with condos in Clearwater or is it more of a priviledge. How much extra would having a boat slip cost for a condo buyer?

Paula - Boat slips are limited throughout the state of Florida and a boat slip can cost $70K or more in the beach areas. With beach values escalating we'll have to wait and see. It's great that locals will have access - there are a lot of boaters in the Clearwater area.    

Will the condos have designated boat slips or is it first come first served for anyone with a boat that owns at Sandpearl?  I am assuming there are more condos than boat slips.

I remember the first time I saw residences with their own slips - in Louisville, KY .... had access to a tributary to the Ohio River.  It was really cool to see the inlet that had condos around it

now I get to see it anytime I head East...

yesterday we went for a drive and crossed the Intracoastal...

it is great living near the ocean where you can enjoy the water and even live with your boat!

Joanne - I'm not sure about all the details right now - I'll keep you posted as they unfold.

David - I love the look of boat docks with the beautiful boats lines along the intercoastal myself. Not everywhere - but they create a certain beauty all together - especially when they are the colorful sailboats.  

This is great news for the Clearwater Homeowners in Sand Pearl!  Clearwater Beach is a fabulous "home" for a boat so this is great news for boat owners!!  You need a post that reads: GOT BOAT SLIP in Sand Pearl?  (I do!)

Great update on the boat docks for the Sandpearl condos.  The public got additional access and the developer got boat slips as well.  Sounds like a win-win situation. 

I am sure that Claudia and the entire staff is cheering too
