Soggy Booth, but Hot Air Balloon Still Flew

Last Saturday, Sept 15, 1p-4p, we had our booth at the Ozark MO Fest. The event went well, despite the rain half way through. People were able to sign up for a drawing for a stone with their last name carved on it, http://www.carvedrock.com/ , and for a $25 gift certificate to Cool Cow Custard. We announced our winners yesterday. When it started raining I ran home to pick up a tent that did not work so well; the best we were able to do was cover up our booth table with a tarp. Our booth location was also unique in that we were in between two kid's inflatables (http://www.nixapartystation.com/ ), which help draw traffic to us. We got to watch an army helicopter land and take off too; we had to hold everything down to keep everything from blowing away. During the rain we hid under the big tent, and then went to the concessions to redeem our free hot dog. Later in the day when the bands started, we had our RE/MAX hot air balloon rides; http://www.flyrmx.com/ . Luckily the rain calmed down by then, but it was still windy. They were able to give 5-10 rides, before the wind decided it was going to have its way. I did not get to ride, but I enjoyed helping with the set up and take down, and being close to the 70 foot tall balloon. Then it was back to work selling the homes that you can find at http://www.williamsclassichomes.com/.
