Staging is new to Phenix City/Columbus, but it really does work!! Here is proof...
The entire house was staged on an accessory budget of $500. This room was $150 of that budget.
This house was on the market for 6 months with a Realtor in Phenix City, AL and didn't sell. After Staging the house sold in only 6 weeks with a simple FSBO sign (with an info tube and PICTURES) in the yard!

What a difference Julie! Yes it can be done, in fact, most of the time my inventory budget is under $500, because I'm always shopping for those great deals. I have no idea what it would cost if I had to pay full price.
I wish I had $500 for a job. Try $300 including my fee and inventory rental. It tough but I'd rather have my inventory out there getting me some kind of return than in storage.
Great job Julie!
It looks great! I think the little touches can really help warming up the home and your photos are a living proof of that!
Cheers,
Cindy
It's amazing how creative you can be with a specific amount of money. You did a great job!
Julie - Great post. This is proof that staging doesn't have to cost a lot!
Julie
Great post... Congratulations on the sale... What are the window treatments. Very interesting detail.
Stacy
Actually, the window treatment is 5 valances from Wal-Mart! We put the matching panels in the Living Room which was not next to the Breakfast Room, but you could see it from there.
A difference is a difference is a difference, Julie! The right eye for balance, style, texture, light....can change everything in a room. Sometimes it takes thousands, sometimes a few hundred, sometimes nothin'! Congratulations on your success!
Cheers! from DC...
Jaynee
It absolutely can be done...and nice work! That's why us stagers have to be so darn creative - and thrifty!
All the best,
Beth
Hi Julie-lovely example of simple changes! Good for you! Regards-Kathleen
Julie,
Window treatments are so creative. How did you hang them? Stacy
Stacy - I bought a $15 rod at Wal-Mart...we sold the rods w/the house.
We usually figure on selling the rods, curtains, and shower curtain with the home - as we had a few disputes over that in the past. The owners buy them.
I like the creative valence use.
