Seventh Annual St. Andrews Kiwanis charity tournament is four-person Captain's Choice at Coldstream Golf Club.
Fee includes cart, green fees, food, beverages and prizes.

A street dance will highlight the evening.

Midlands Public Safety Officers will compete in Wachovia's Okra-Eating Contest.
Irmo goes shaggin' for the annual Hemingway's Shaggin' in the Streets competition.
There will be plenty of food, rides and fried okra.

A non-competitive 10K walk, will begin with staggered times between 8:00am - 12:00pm.
Walkers will follow a mapped route, which will begin at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot on Lake Murray Blvd.

The largest festival parade in South Carolina
More than 100 units participating, including the famous Irmo Okra Man,
floats, beauty queens, marching bands and more.
St. Andrews Road, from Irmo High School to Irmo Village Shopping Center.

Food, Arts/Crafts, Rides and Exhibitions.
Three stages with continuous entertainment all day.
Children's Okra Eating Contest and The Golden Pod Hunt.

These local festivals are the best, this is first okra festival I've heard about. I can't imagine a children's okra eating contest, it is not a vegetable children normally like.
