Short Sales

Short sales are the latest oxy-moron! There is nothing short about them. As Real Estate professionals it is important that we stay informed on how to help our clients succeed in this difficult time. I have been studying the most efficient ways to perform short sales, and the trick is to keep asking questions and not take no for an answer. The most difficult transaction has got to be a short sale, in a balancing market like Brevard County Florida. I have been doing many short sales in every type of neighborhood, for families in every income bracket. The investors have even fallen short of their financial planning mark, and are not buying as quickly as in years past, so they are also involved in bank negotiations. Short sales are lots of work for a short commission.  They are a labor of love because you helping someone salvage a small piece of their credit making it easier to financially start over.

You would be amazed~the number of my regular transactions this year, is rivaling my short sale # of transactions this year. I have been very succesful. It is a labor of love; the options and the ability to help is increasing (or maybe I'm just getting better, each one I do).  My advice is stay persistant! Don't get discouraged, and do your homework!

Jospehine, does the short sale lender limit the RE commission to 2.5% on your short sales?

If I understand your question you must be referring to the gross commission? If that is the question than the answer is no. 

Some months ago, at a short sale general alert session class, one realtor stated that she was asked to reduce the gross commission to 5%.  I have not experienced it yet.
