Montana is celebrated for many things, among them its grand mountains, vast prairies, wide-open sky, cool clear rivers, abundant wildlife and friendly, independent people. The fourth-largest state in the nation, Montana has a population of just more than 900,000, for an average of only 6.2 people per square mile. There are three cows for every person!
"I am in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection, but with Montana it is love, and it's difficult to analyze love when you're in it." From Travels with Charley, John Steinbeck
It seems to me that Montana is a great splash of grandeur. The scale is huge but not overpowering. the land is rich with grass and color, and the mountains are the kind I would create if mountains were ever put on my agenda...Montana has a spell on me. it is grandeur and warmth... Of all the states it is my favorite and my love." John Steinbeck

I am a realtor from Alberta, but I love Montana....It is probably the only place in the States I could live, it has mountains, cowboys, skiing, hiking, lakes and more, a little bit like Alberta but with longer summers. Good luck with your group.
Hi Marjorie & Doug - thanks for your post. We love Alberta too but would have a hard time leaving Montana.
I loved vacationing in Montana -- did it for 8 years. Two weeks every winter in Big Sky. Fabulous cross-country skiing at Lone Mountain Ranch. I couldn't tolerate the cold when not skiing hard, however, so we moved from Chicago to Flagstaff instead of to Montana!
Hi Ann, Big Sky is a beautiful place to vacation. You should try us in the summer also. Flagstaff is nice too though and is appealing during the long Montana winter!
