Her we are in October already, another month under our belts! Well the Sept figures are in , and not bad at all, actually pretty good. Considering what the Newspapers try to portray??? Yesterday's front page newspaper - BIG ISLAND ECONOMY SLOWING - !!!

You know, if I were a tourist here on vacation - I would think it is a lot worse than it really is. I mean - SLOWING - what exactly does that mean? Does it mean we are only flying in 200 people a day instead of 300 from Oahu to help fill positions. Does it mean that maybe we can open up Wendy's Keauhou - because their is finally someone to staff it, or maybe - well I could on and on - I will save that for another day.

Number of North Kona Residential Sales = 2006 (36) 2007 (32) - <11.11%>

Sales Volume North Kona Residential Sales = 2006 $28,368,823. 2007 $22,059,606. - <22.24%>

Median Sales Price North Kona Residential Sales = 2006 $650,000 2007 $598,500 - <7.92%>

Now that may look like a lot, but lets put a little more perspective on it, that same Median Home cost you

2004 = $495,000

2003 = $410,000

2002 = $330,000

2001 = $270,000

2000 = $286,621

Just think, if I would have had my crystal ball working back then - I would of bought a dozen. I tell you what, thats the last time I use those cheap batteries !
